How long does it take you to join a server?

Let me start of by saying PR is by far the best game ive ever played and ive been playing it for the past year and a half now....my only issue is trying to join a server.

Sometimes (rarely) i can join a server with no problems on my first try with the normal annoyingly long load time. However, usually i join a server, get to squad selection then the game freezes for a minute and i get kicked with a "heartbeats stopped..." message. Ok, lets try this again. Load up the server again (or a new one), i get to squad selection again, it freezes for a minute again and then i get kicked again with an "MD5 tools...." message. Ok, 1 more try. I join a server, get to squad selection and..WOW IM PLAYING! 5 minutes later...kicked from the game again with another "heartbeats stopped" message or the game just crashes to desktop. Now, usually if i try again after that i can join a server and play for hours on end with no problems.

Since i began playing PR i have always gotten different random kicked/error messages. These messages have been different with the different versions of PR.

The point is...on average it will take me anywhere from 20-45 minutes to join a game. I think its worth the wait, but its horribly boring and annoying and would love to play on my first try! anyone else have similar issues?

it sounds like you are having punkbuster problems. theres lots and lots of threads about how to fix punk buster problems in the tech support section of the forums. which is probably the best place for this thread as you will get helped faster that way.

Had this a few months ago.
Update your punkbuster manually and deactivate the firewall on your router.
That worked for me, but you better have a look into the tech support section, as charlie said.

ohhh no...im not looking for a fix. ive searched high and low and cant find a real fix..just temporary solutions. What seems to work for me is to create my own server, wait for it to load to 100% then leave it and join an internet server. Or i run pbsetup followed by pbsvc....either of those work, but not always. Im just wondering how long it takes others to join a server.

Well if the server is full, i just select auto deployment and wait. Usually it takes like 1-2 mins of waiting fo me. But the loading time....oooooh....i don't even want to think about it Well, for me it mostly depends on what map is played on the server. If it's a big one with many trees, it loads longer i think. As for Kashan, it loads pretty fast as for my comp. Usually, it takes from 1 to 2 mins to load a map.

Takes me about 5mins to load its anyoying but thtts what u expect from a crapy comp
