Insurgent weapon Tracer
I asked for removing of tracer from Insurgent firearm back in 0.85. I thought many of people agreed with me on this topic, and was hoping in this patch the tracer will be removed. Still, many of Insurgent firearm have tracer in them, causing opponent player to know which direction the fire is coming from.
I want to ask, if the tracer was intentionally left not removed, or just forgotten etc.
Also, I want to ask you all again about what do you think of removing Tracer from Insurgent weapons.
Thank you for reading. Please reply.

Re: Insurgent weapon Tracer
not sure if its realistic but it would help the insurgency balance a little more so i agree on it.

Re: Insurgent weapon Tracer
It's more realistic to remove the tracers from insurgents because most insurgents in real life don't have access to tracer rounds.

I agree as well, for realism and the simple fact that it would make firefights, especially on Korengal, a lot more interesting, and difficult for the blufor.

Re: Insurgent weapon Tracer
I think its hardcoded to remove tracers from just one faction or even one weapon. If I understood the hardcodeness right its the case that you just can have a certain amount of tracers for EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING.
Means, if you remove tracers from ins, you are automatically removing tracers from every faction and weapon.
Hope that helps

No... Whatever gave you that Idea? Unless you've skimmed over the ballistics thread hastily, where they said you either had to have all tracers or no tracers at all for ballistics to work with proper tracers.

Indeed, you can set the tracer numbers, size, etc all on each individual weapon.
Iirc they were removed for ins in one release, I don´t know why they were brought back?

Oh well, I was always just flying over the posts with tracers and stuff, missed the point that you can set it for each weapon, ty for clearing up

i agree, removing them would improve gameplay, but why are the BLUFOR's always red and the OPFOR or ins are always greenish? shouldn't they all be slightly yellow?

Re: Insurgent weapon Tracer
A tracer can be colored depending on what color the pyrotechnic charge is, traditionally in real life BLUFOR have always used red and OPFOR has green. Most insurgent weapons came from russia hence them having green tracers.z0MbA wrote:i agree, removing them would improve gameplay, but why are the BLUFOR's always red and the OPFOR or ins are always greenish? shouldn't they all be slightly yellow?

Yes, please remove them. Insurgents are at a disadvantage with them, most of the time targets are communicated via voice prior to an ambush, rather then pointing them out with bullets, during combat, like conventional soldiers do.

Re: Insurgent weapon Tracer
they nerfed the ak47 accuracy. that made less sense than removing tracers, so i guess they won't be removing tracers...

Re: Insurgent weapon Tracer
Since when, who takes the time to remove the tracer rounds from ammunition crates before loading them these guys don't say "Hey stop giving me tracers in my ammunition supply" they say "Give me more ammunition so i can put more rounds down range", that would take hours and days with weapons like automatic support and mounted weapon systems. But as far as the gameplay I think that they should just be less visible on lighter maps and more visible on darker maps.Mad-Mike wrote:100% agree,
