Range estimation commands

Post by Dragonfire43560 »

You know the "Spotted" command in the comma rose?

Well, how about making so that if you right click it will give you the option of lets say these:

"Contact-50m"
"Contact-100m"
"Contact-200m"
"Contact-500m"

You can still use the generic "Enemy spotted" but this would give you some more options and allow you to communicate more info with the click of a mouse. ALSO

You can add IN ADDITION to the above suggested commands the BEARING of the targets. Make it so that it automatically gives the bearing of the persons cone of sight. The range would be manual as to keep it skill based, but let it automatically have the heading so that squadmates can quickly identify and or engage.

that would be a nice option, always annoying when Blues (when mumble isn't being used ofc) are going "enemy spotted" but you don't have a clue what they are talking about.

though I don't think the game can understand the bearing thing

Nice idea that, doubt it would work with bearings but ranges sure.

Only issue I can spot is that you should never use the voice commands in close proximity to the enemy because they can hear you just the same as your team can. Also implementation for factions speaking Russian/Arabic etc would be unintelligable to many in the community.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

I like this idea a lot, but couldn't you just tell the SL to place a attack marker/observe marker which already shows the range?
