Civilian Mortar Strike Guide

After playing several rounds of insurgency, i've realized that many people are unaware (or do not know how to) that Civilian's are in fact able to call in Mortar Strikes.
So hopefully the following guide will explain to people how to call one in:


Step 1) Check you have a commander on your team
2)Ask your commander if their is an Area Attack ready
3)Become a Squad leader
4)Make sure you have a civilian Kit
5)Find a good place to call in your Mortar attack
6)Equip your Mobile phone and right click
7)Look at where you want to call in the mortar strike and place an attack marker on it.
Hold down T ,move the mouse over the centre circle and left click.
9)Sit back and watch the show.

i know this may sound like a noob question but can you use the binos in conjunction with this for more accuracy in target selection ie a building?

actually you can use binocs to aim at your target (though since the crosshair has been removed you have to be careful at what youre aiming at) and once you aimed just pull out your cell and the rest is clear

Yes you could that. But it has another reason as well.
If you tell the commander you want an area attack on your attack marker and you accidentally request it 200m away from your marker for whatever reason, the commander will know (if he isn't stupid) that the requested fire mission is incorrect and that he shouldn't accept it right away.
