I just installed the patch 0.86, and played 2-3 times. I was going to enjoy a long and good round with PR, launched the game, picked a nice server.. Map loading.. Finished loading.

Ops! CHRASH!!!!
I have tried running as admin, then it just chrashes, ifi just click the icon, it will charsh at the exact same time, just give me a notice " Pr.exe has stopped working".

WtF ? Someone?

Ps: Ill be leaving on holiday tomorrow, so wont answer till next sunday ( 3/4th July)

Yep.. Only 0.86.

I just re-booted my pc, and now, when I joined the LT server, It wored. But Then, it crahes??

I have the BF2 cd, and all the booster pack, if that matters?

That fix is for vista does it work with xp?

Apparently not, because no fixes work for me. Constant and reliable CTD on map loading screen. This **** is getting old I haven't been able to play in weeks now.

There is still some servers running older version of PR (v0.856). Joining these servers will cause crash to desktop after map is loaded.

Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your new PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001

Anymore info on this? I keep crashing to desktop after the map loads, at the loading screen -- I never get to see the loaded map. I play BF2 on this putter, so it can't be insufficient resources or what not. Thanks.

No fixes work for me. No PR for weeks for me. It sucks having to switch games from the one I love...hopefully the DEVs will address this because for me PR is dead. I even did a system restore and still CTD on every map load

I figured it out on my end. It seems like one of the download servers was providing an earlier version of PR. Make sure the file names have 860 in them. Good luck.
