Because in BF2 all the 'S' key does is lower your engine's upward thrust and gravity does the work. If PR wanted to have helicopters drop faster they only needed to increase the gravitational pull on the helicopter. When Alex and I were handling physics we used at least double the amount of normal gravity. The effect of this is the higher dive speeds, and higher descend speeds. PR uses a combination of higher horizontal speed magnifiers and reverse thrust to account for this. However their technique as several problems. First, the reverse thrust allows inverted flying. Second, their horizontal speed magnifier is set too high which makes maneuvering the helicopter really hard, makes it dive way too fast at shallow angles, and it can be used to break the sound barrier in PR. Yes, you can dive at mach one with a helicopter in PR.
