The question is, do we want them to come back outta it, or remain black till they crash...

Maybe hav a blur for a bit, just so they get that bit of time to pull outta it, cos I'm sure in RL the pilot would feel he was pushin it a bit to much just before he blacks out...

for my 2 cents: if you can get a black out working: don't make it a blur of the vision, make it a tunnel vision that gets worse and worse and worse and then goes black. im only saying this because my comp hates antia aliasingm, so blurring = bad...

To comment on that thought, we will be backwards testing as many different configurations of PCs as possible (slower machines to high end), as long as they can handle the basic BF2 engine, they should be able to do if/what we add in terms of graphics changes/enhancments. We will be trying to accomodate as many possible users as possible with the requierments. :)

Well, in real life when you black out, you dont stay blacked out forever. So the answer is, it goes away.
Yes but in RL u might also be flying at 20,000' or higher when dogfighting, and although pilots hav time to wake up an come out of it from that height, in BF2, U can probably only get to around 4-5000' (relatively), if that, so would a pilot have time to come out of a blackout from that height before hitting the deck??

Another thing that just came to mind, which I think may hav been discussed before, loosing control after a certain damage point, ie. Helo/Aircraft gets damaged to a certain degree, and becomes all but impossible to manage, and most likely ends up in a spin which is iraversable, forcing the pilot to bail.

IRL Auto-Pilot kicks in. It should be very temporary. Your screen goes black for a sec or 2, just long enough for the other pilot to escape, or put a missle in ya.
