Thanks for the info Space.

P.S. Have you decided whether or not to use a password? Or are you gonna touch and feel?

Even last night on a normal Thursday night, we got over 40 Mumblers on the server, and many of these people, were people who had downloaded Mumble after finding out about it on our server. Alot of them are not members of the RT community, and do not visit the PR forums, so if we use a password, then I feel we will exclude them.

Also with nearly 200 places to be filled in the 3 mumble events this evening, I dont think theres enough mumble users, to fill all the servers.

Instead, we will use our usual policy of kicking non-mumble users when the server is full, to make room for mumblers.

Just to remind people - Here is our Mumble download and installation guide:

www.realityteamwork.com/mumble

If youre a mumble user that wants a space on our server when its full, then message me on x-fire, via the RT X-Fire community:

How to Join the Reality Teamwork X-Fire group

Hopefully we can still get the server well populated with mumblers this evening!

This is the provisional maplist for tonight :

I know that some of you run in horror from some of the maps in the list, but give them a try tonight, to see how they play with Mumble. For many of you, it will be the first time you've played some of these maps in a very long time, so hopefully it will also make a nice change.

We tend to get good quality players on the Reality Teamwork server, so you may have a very different experience playing them tonight ;)

Quick question.. do I need to uninstall old mumbleversion and download/setup from scratch?
Probably a stupid question and easy to find on the forum, but I´m in a hurry right now and later this evening I only wan´t to quickly be able to play with mumble. ty.

Download Mumble 0.5, run the installer, it'll ask if you want to un-install the old mumble or not, say yes, and continue with your install of PR mumble.

Click the link above, and its all in the guide, which also includes some useful setup tips, and some pointers on Mumble etiquette. Believe it or not, Mumble spam has almost disappeared on the Reality Teamwork server! :)

The event kicks off in 45 minutes. We already have 35/43 mumblers on the server.

If you need a space on the server, please ask me via our x-fire community channel (address can be found earlier in this thread), and not via mumble ;)

Also make sure you are using the latest version of mumble before you join - details here :

www.realityteamwork.com/mumble

See you on there soon ;)

With some inspired timing some old friends decided to pay me a surprise visit this evening just as the event started, which kind of meant I couldn't play :(

I noticed alot of mumblers on there, despite the "unpopular maps" and the server seemed to be full all night until the server crash.

How did you guys find it? Did playing these maps with Mumble change your view on them at all?

I was on for awhile but I ended up leaving after a few rounds because I found the maps too small for the amount of players online. It was fun hearing everyone but in the end it felt like a huge mess without enough room to flank around. Course not all the maps were tiny, which then led to the case of myself not wanting to walk everywhere. I'm just not a fan of purely infantry maps when they were made to be played with assets.

If you're online Space I'm just sitting in the Mumble server.

This was probably my first time on a server with a majority of the players on Mumble and it was great. I ended up in JediMushroom's ROFLMAN squad for a good 3 rounds and it was fun attacking/defending/harassing non-mumble users :) . Too bad the server crashed...

I wish I could have played - I was quite looking forward to using mumble on some of the lesser played maps like Seven Gates and Tad Sae :(

The small maps night will not be repeated, but Im thinking of maybe having a special password night every week, as the server slowly moves towards becoming permanently passworded.

Reality Teamwork is for mumble users, so remember that every night is mumble night with us :)

The ROFLmen will move unheard, strike unwarranted and then teabag your corpse shouting "lol! thanks for the SAW, noob!".

Yeah, that was a pretty awesome night, I do love me some mumble!

The server should have been passworded for last-night, there were quite a few people on the server without mumble or even knowing what mumble is. They'd be kicked... then would rejoin complaining about being kicked not knowing what they had "mumbled" to make someone upset.

So any special nights from now on should require a password

I was there:

Lots of fun - I think 80% more fun and 20% a useful tactical tool, it may be more tactically useful on AAS maps though.
Two schools of thought with regard to having seperate Mumble positional teams or combined, meaning you hear the enemy or not.
Lots of banter, congratulations and piss taking going on at the end of round - tactically useless but lots of fun.
For me in a frenetic action packed map quite tricky to deal with it all WELL, but if the servers are a little quieter excellent!
Because we all have the same accents makes positional with the enemy diffficult - Imagine an audio filter that puts on an arabic accent for the insrgents.... :p
Took me a while to get on the correct team SL channel ... we were only two on.

Now if possible I would prefer a server with the most Mumble players on it!
Any idea why Mumble is forbidden on the UKWF server now, I can't imagine the crash was anything too do with Mumble?

The server has almost been full with mumblers all weekend, so from now on the server will be passworded every weekend so that only members of the RT community can join, and depending on how successful that is, the server will then become permanently passworded.

Also coming very soon - the launch of the second server based in the US :)
