Get rid of support class!!!!

I am sick of this class! Every person is a support because they are a total kill racker. This class is the ultimate killing class. They hold a gun that is accurate while standing, crouching, and proning and it has 100 to 200 shots in a whole clip. This class is just way overpowered! Face it! Whenever there is a sniper that gets killed by a support gunner from 300m away it is bull ****. If this class is so lethal you might as well make every other class have lethal shot instead of 5 shots then dead. It should just be 1 shot kill if it hits head of chest and 2 hit kill if it hits legs or arms.

If this gun was truely realistic then the military would arm every single soldier with one. I am on the edge of quitting this mod because of it. Fix it!

i presume you play sniper.

the support has been mentioned in many places, and yes i agree it needs fixing. but only in standing Recoil and speed going prone. otherwise it is spot on.

Well, considering this is a realism mod, completely removing the automatic rifleman would make no sense.

As I have said so many times before, just fix the insta-prone thing, and the support class will be fine. Don't change the support class, don't nerf it, just fix the insta-prone.

Anyway, I haven't seen much support-whoring since .3 anyway...

I normaly will win a firefight with a Assult vs Support if we see each other at the same time, Aim for the head, 1 shot 1 kill. M16 (and the Ak-101 + AK-47) pawns. Now all i need is my L85A2 :twisted:

I wish I could temp remove it until it's fixed. It's so lame at the moment and so unrealistic...

ummm its complety realistic apart from the instant prone and the amount of ppl that can use them...... :roll:

Are you the guy who abused me for saying the support class is good on GA server? Lol, nah I know you're not.

Some random dude extrapolated on my statement, that the suport class is good (ie can be used effectively), to say Im one of the "insert bad word" people who use it because they are noobish.

I have played this mod a lot and I really don't think it is that unbalanced.

cos we are 1337 haxors and we love the support class with its 1337 instant prone....

no its cos its somthing that is hard to fix. Its not 1 line of code you have to change to make the prone not be instant, its a job with no simpal awsner to if any but we are trying to fix it.

Luizinhuu mate - I know you have strong feelings but tone the language down, it only makes people stop reading.

And I think you misread the DEVS, they are saying the power and damage of the M249 and RPK-74 are realistic and I have to agree, everyones main problem with the support class in the insta-prone which the DEVs are looking at for a future release, I am certain of that :P

Probably me Matt. I mock everyone.

I was told I wasn't skillful enough to use the support so come Muttrah City did I whore it to no end. 36-3. The other supporters were a little quiet after that.

I was thinking about making a Support fraps movie to show everyone how absolutely easy it is.

That's what I was inferring. :-D I want realism!! 8) At the moment people use the support class like they are playing Quake. :roll: And it's a damn shame it works and so often spoils the game. :(

I appreciate you guys are working on a fix though. Hence my wish for a temp removal. :-D

A short-time "fix" or at least improvement would be to slow the support class down by a fair bit and decrease his stamina a LOT, or better yet, don't allow him to sprint at all with the weapon in hand (and give the support and medic class a goddamn handgun already). It would make them much better targets and make people using support guns think twice about running around on the battlefield and force them to remain a little more stationary - which is the support guns' real purpose .. and they should be lethal as hell (as they are now) when being used defensively too.

An additional, important, albeit probably hard-to-accomplish fix would be to modify the "insta-proning" (my suggestion: Don't allow the support class fo fire for 2 seconds after they hit the ground (simulating your character setting up his heavy, bulky machine gun for shootung after hitting the deck) - not sure how hard this is to code though).

BM - I think you could just put in a long animation for the bipod to be set up.
