all i have to say is that there better not be any problems with this i suffered from never failing CTD in .85 and REALLY want to do something besides explore kashan desert by myself

1. The link to PR Guide is still not working atm. as it is in a "work over" state - hope that changes soon

2. Ati Users have Experience with . Net Framework as the Control Panel needs it. I myself always have the latest so i didn't run into any troubles with patching to 0.860. But most Nvidia Users don't have a clue that it exists and a lot of them got into troubles by patching...i suggest to install net first:

after installing reboot PC, then you should go to Microsoft Update and let it install Security Fixes...


delete pr 0.856 shortcuts, then finally patch to 0.860


3. Singleplayer is not working with 0.860 (MP) completely yet, but the SP Devs are working on a patch:

The SP team will be releasing a 0.86 SP 'patch' and no guarantees, but July 3rd is my deadline!

There needs to be more clarification included for installing to a non-default directory. I am having issues installing, and I think this is the reason why. I have a post located in the support forums here:

You guys might also need to do this if you run into CTD problems.

Also. the default Target path is:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" (It is in my windows 7 anyway).

Changing it to:-

"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

solves the problem of CTD when loading maps. in Win 7 at least.

We could disable the ability to walk so that people have to crawl only - that should

The above quote is the 2nd screen from the patch. I was thinking "This is just a patch why would I want to uninstall the previous version?"

I came to the forums and looked about and saw that you should not uninstall previous versions. Just the opposite of what the text says in your lic agreement.

I am sure others had to stop and consider it too. Some may actually uninstall V.85 which would be a mistake.

I'm having problems installing the patch. Whenever i download the patch setup (which was about 3 times taking over an 1-2hours) and tried to run it, the setup always stops and says:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels\kozelsk\client.zip

An error occurred while trying to copy a file:
The source file is corrupted

Click Retry to try again, Ingnore to skip this file (not recommended), or about to cancel installation.

I downloaded the setup from the filefront link. I live in Canada and use the american links. One of them doesn't work and the other just redirects me to filefront. The erupean links take very long to download.

I've skipped it before and when i enter a game about 5 minutes later i get disconnected because of PB saying that the files are different. Currently im using the torrent and downloading it with limewire which will take about 2-4 hours!!!! Any ideas????????

Sounds like either the patch is corrupted or it's time to reinstall and redownload.

I wish that would fix mine. I have completely reinstalled PR 2 times and have downloaded the .86 patch off of all 3 download links, and I still get this same problem... WHAT IS HAPPENING!!!!

Just tried that. Core installed fine, but Levels failed on two seperate files.

Download the 0.85 Core and 0.85 Levels file and then you can apply the 0.86 Patch.

Main, you cant download .85 from there anymore.

Paranoid Freak, you need to download .86 Client core and levels if you do NOT have .85 already installed

i did not change anything, would Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit change anything?
