Development team, make PRMM more realistic (If possible) my suggestions are:
•Individual values for weapon sway and recoil (Different gun different values)
Examples
•M-16 : Little recoil, little sway, little bullet drop, and medium damage.
•M249 Saw : Heavy recoil, heavy sway, medium bullet drop, heavy damage.
•AK-47 : Heavy recoil, medium sway, medium bullet drop, heavy damage.
•Pistols : Little recoil (Depending on caliber), little sway, heavy bullet drop, damage(Based on caliber).
•Proning should reduce gun sway dramatically. Weapons with tripods attached to them (Such as LMG) should have almost no weapon sway (Recoil is not reduced with tripods unless bolted to ground)
•Sniper Rifles : Heavy recoil, heavy sway, little bullet drop, heavy damage.
•As said many times before insta-proning must be eliminated.
•Takes at least 2-3 seconds to lay down with a weapon (I timed it with my own AR-15).
•I’ve suggested kit-limitations but this is 50/50 with the community.
•Perhaps not needed if the things mentioned above were implemented.
As someone who owns weapons that are very similar to the weapons used in this game I am basing my suggestions of experience, not assumptions or what I’ve read.
Another issue I am aware of is, are these things possible with the BF2 engine? Let me know DEV team. If they are I will gladly research every weapon currently used in PRMM and make more detailed list.
I strongly believe that the more realism is implemented into this mod the larger your fan base will grow.

All you've done is standardise each classes weapons. The weapons at the moment are designed to represent how the real life counterparts may react.

The M249 Saw has a lot of kick, I know I've fired it. In the game it hardly bounces when fired.
The M-16 fires like a pellet gun. It has almost no kick. In PRMM it has more kick then the SAW. Those things need to be addressed.
I did not standardize each class, only gave it accurate descriptions. Assault class for MEC should not have the same weapon values as the assault class for Coalition. They have two entirely different weapons.
Not meaning to offend you JellyBelly, but how does someone from England know how real world weapons react?

What essay? In my experience only mounted LMG (such as the .50 cal mounted to vehicles or defense posts) have a dramatic reduction in bounce.OiSkout wrote:Well accordin to the guys essay on realism, it says MGs are usually heavy enough to keep the gun from flying up(though LMGs might)

Haha, I love that! Well, hell it's not like the darn thing flies up 3 feet! Watching someone fire a gun is not like shooting it. If you fired an m-16 with live ammo I guarantee you will be surprised by the little amount of kick it gives. The m249 does not give you the kick or push of say, a 30.06 rifle, but it does bounce your aim around 1-2 inches. In PRMM (this is guesstamation) it bounces only a few centimeters.

A gun license, in England, only gets you permission to fire weapons related to hunting (Shotguns, rifles <--They may not allow rifles?). He may have been in the army, but that is why I asked the question. Hey no offense to those of you in the UK. The odds are that most of us on this forum are indeed civilians. That being said, I highly doubt most of you from the UK have experience with military style weapons (For obvious reasons). We here in the states can buy a .50 cal machine gun if we want! Again, the only purpose of this post is to address the major problem with weapons. They are not coded right. I believe this is the source of many problems. If fixed correctly a lot of current issues can be addressed.

I never said I knew, surfer. What I said is, you're talking about giving a standard set of rules for every class, no matter its real world reactions. Essentially, you're saying that we should give, say, the MEC RPK and US SAW, the same reactions although they fire a different round and may have different reactions to being fired.

NO, absolutely not what I'm saying. In fact, that is the opposite of my original post. If you check my first post the description for reactions in regards to the AK vs the M16 is entirely different. I am suggesting the weapons be re-coded to meet REAL world weapon behavior. Currently PRMM has not perfected every weapon. I belive this is the cause of a lot of frustration umong users.
Not trying to insult you JellyBelly, I've just realized that A LOT of people in this forum talk about realism with weapons/vehicles and they don't have the first clue as to what they're talking about. Reading about it is NOT like using them!
That's awesome that you've fired some serious hardware, what sort of stuff have you gotten to fire?

When you get old enough, buy an AK first. They are the cheapest to buy ($250-$1000). They are also a lot more fun to shoot then the AR-15(Civie version of M-16). The ammo for the AK is also some of the cheapest you can buy (For rifle ammo anyway). The AR-15, unfortuneatly, is a very expensive toy. I use it for shooting long range mostly (200-400 yards). The greatest part about the AR-15 is the amount of modifications you can add on it (Which becomes very expensive). When you do get them just be sure you are extremely safe with them.
