I agree that it could be seen as spoiling the game, but almost each cache is well defended now anyway. Maybe its cos of my clan's name, SOE. If you look on the wiki page about the original SOE you see that it's mission was to encourage and facilitate espionage and sabotage behind enemy lines

hmm I disagree, I think that it's just a creative use of intel. Besides, with the new cache systems its much harder to find undefended caches. With the old system you could just stumble on a cache somewhere (with or without intel) and that is much less likely now.

Dont say cache location even if you were team switched by server end of maybe?

What i was saying is a few people mentioning how the server team switched them and they then told their squad where cache was, well just dont tell them. And the "end of maybe" to be exact was a bit sarcastic.

Re: People giving away cache locations on Insurgency
lol ok, point taken but its still gonna be tempting for many and hard to control. As I said I've used intel gained on the other side on previous occasions but not all the time, just depends how the gameplay is and my mood

Re: People giving away cache locations on Insurgency
This makes me think of something we tried last night when playing PR. We were on the insurgency team, and we went to some random part of the map, as far away from the US base and the caches as we could. We set up a bunch of mines, IED's and then just went and hid in the bushes. Then I put in a message into regular chat, something like "go resupply at the cache at <our trap location>." Then we had the rest of the squad jump on regular chat and call the guy a noob, and idiot, why did you give away our cache blah blah blah.
Then we waited.... and waited.... and waited. Eventually they showed up in force, and us four sappers and our traps, managed to ambush and take em all out. It was epic.

Yes, misleading intel is a creative use that does not negatively effect the game since they can simply ignore your bait.

Re: People giving away cache locations on Insurgency
There are the team switchers who tell where caches are, and who obviously don't understand the basic premise of PR, and what life in general is all about.bromley wrote:yeah there is an aweful lot of unknown caches being destroyed lately, makes you wonder...
Then there are those who feel they should spawn at an unknown cache, grab a rpg, or other weapon and fire from the cache, or put nade traps right by the entrance so when a teammate enters it trips the grenade trap and voila!.

I hate it when my battles get on blufor. Every time I switch from Opfor to blufor I do my best to join a squad that is attacking the revealed cache. If the caches I saw on the map aren't revealed yet, I just pal around and act stupid.

You don't think it would be worth getting the squad together and actively searching for insurgents to kill, which will get you IP's towards revealing the cache?JKRMAUI wrote:I hate it when my battles get on blufor. This is what a lot of organised squads do, and a lot of the time they just stumble across the unmarked cache on the way to somewhere else. I have to admit I've found quite a few unmarked caches now, while on the way to another location.

I think he means he wouldn't want to put himself in a situation where his ill gotten knowledge would affect the game. You don't think it would be worth getting the squad together and actively searching for insurgents to kill, which will get you IP's towards revealing the cache?
