The Chinook helicopter

hi all.. just saw some preview images of the new chinook helicopter and was wondering if it is in this new patch that im currently downloading havnt played PR in a while so looking forward to seeing what the new patch brings

The Chinook is not in the current .86 Release no. It may come out in the next couple releases rumor has it

is it basicly just fixing bugs and better graphics and stuff or?

seriously... i dont get why every one is so excited to get into a death trap, then complaing its too weak or something else is over powered

I know, I just don't see the huge fuss is. It can't carry more troops than the Blackhawk or Huey (in game) and it's a lot bigger, slower, and less agile than the both of those helicopters. It's going to be a bullet magnet. The only thing I see a Chinook doing in PR is falling out of the sky in a ball of flames.

yes its going to be a bullet magnet, but we know that on the map its on, Sangin, there will be an Apache afaik. So expect to see alot of Apache/Chinook joint flights.

Chinnok should actually be faster than the Apache and such, so it won´t be sluggish. Can pull some nice moves.

I wouldn't get your hopes up as Fastropes are hardcoded, but the I'm sure the Chinook's awesomeness will be good enough.

how many supply crates will their be in it and will there be a chance that a jeep will be in the back for squad in the middle of no where?

I'm hoping for the jeep option too, but dunno, I've heard varying reports of it being a hardcoded no, and a very definite possibility.

Any clarification for the payload of this beast?

(It could even be set up so you need a copilot to drop crates or the jeep)

Wait, wrong game...

I think the chinook will make for an interesting game experience. The ability to drop a whole squad and set them to build up a fb will be a great asset to the US.

A door that can be open/closed would be full of win. If an Apache escorts and does it's job, then you could have 2 squads, and the rifle specialists could do a fastrope.

Oh and having the ability to drop a supply truck or 2 supply crates would also be equally awesome. Give the Chinook speed and you have the best target ever to shoot down with technicals.

you realize the chinook is faster than the apache and huey , and only slightly slower than blackhawk?
