This little problem probably frustrates me more than anything else in PR, and I am positive it's happened to nearly everyone who plays regularly.
Situation:
Your buddy just got shot in the leg and his blood is squirting everywhere, 'OMG! he's bleeding out, I gotta save charlie' you think to yourself, 'I'll get out my field dressing and help him out!' So you toss it to him, and all is well, until the unthinkable happens, that field dressing just fell through the ground/dissapeared/glitched/got stolen. Now what? Oh he died.
So why can't the field dressing be more like the medic bag? The medic bag was changed to not be throwable so medics didnt toss them out just to get points, and it was unrealistic, which was great, but now we have these little 'throw and forget bandaids' that are used in 80% of situations. THey don't make much sense to me.
My suggestion, is to remove the throwing ability and make them like the medic bag. So now when your buddy gets shot, you run over with your bandage, apply it, and your done, there is no bewildering moment where you wait to see if it worked or not. You just let your bud apply it and its done, or you apply your own to yourself. Maybe there can be 2 different mouse buttons for giving a bandage to someone else and applying it to yourself. Just a simple animation of the bandage moving outwards, or inwards.
This would end the situations where 3 people get shot, and the SL tosses out a bandage to each guy, that's rediculous.
[did a search and found no other suggestions like this]

Re: Bandage Use/Application.
i like it.
Even though i find the ability to throw a bandage and heal myself relativly quickly i think there should be an animation where you heal yourself or someone else like how the medic bag works.
How it is now is just too quick to get healed, its convenient but you should have to be taken out of the fight for more then 4 seconds when you get hit.

Exactly, I was just watching this PR video of a pretty awesome firefight. The guy filming got shot, and he threw down a bandage, and before he was even healed, he had his gun out, locked and loaded, the second he was healed he was already firing back.
How is that realistic.
There should be a short time of bandaging yourself where you can't fire etc. Not laying on the floor with your gun out while the little magic bag fixes you up automatically.

Already discussed. iirc the problem was that if it was just a click and hold thing the ammo would never run out.

Ya, I'm pretty sure that's exactly the problem. Otherwise, I think, we would have a different system anyway. The throw-away-dressings are probably the only thing that works without having unlimited health supply.

Hmmm. Than I suppose its just a bf2142 thing than. The Medic packs could run out of supplys over there. And you needed to recharge.
Its a cool suggestion but it will probably like Jordan said.

Re: Bandage Use/Application.
I agree the field dressing mechanic could use more work its from waaaaaaay back but afaik its not possible to add reloadable ammo to a medic bag like player object.
you can make it run out of ammo and recharge, but that would be **** and would be like console shooters with infinite health.
Not sure if theres an easy way to make it work, but feel free to try,if you get it to work we include it for next patch

Why not make a bandage like the epipen? It has limited ammo and can only be applied to another person, makes more sense than the system we have now and I can't see a problem coding it.

Yeah thats a nice idea, but it shouldnt be infinite like the Med pack.... i should be limited to only heal 25% of ur lifepoints
