[Request] Afghan boat.

If it isnt too rude I want to request a modeller to make me a boat that looks something like this:Image

It doesnt need to be that long though, just aslong as it has a motor in the back it works neither what color it is. I really hope it isnt too much to ask ;)

I made one for practice, but it isnt textured.

There are some boats in PR that pretty much look like that and may even have a motor. They're statics though, from your post I can't tell if you need a vehicle, or just a static boat.

1.
the insides of the boat look solid enough, but due to the engine you need to be aware that the inside of the boat needs to be above the water plane since the water would penetrate inside the boat.
2.
secondly you need to use some smoothing groups on it too to make it look better overall.
3.
if using the refs the outside needs some sort of plank structure (this would be fairly easy to make (just make a few lines around the boat where you want to extrude the planks, and then weld the extrude to make it only extrude on the lower verts of the plank (if that makes sense)
4.
the engine needs some work to be done, it's fairly simple (too simple) and you could probably borrow my engine i made for another boat and then edit that slightly to make it a bit bigger and better looking aswell as saving the time editing and uv'ing it to make it look perfect.

that's the advice i can give ya on the model :)

so he hasnt even textured it and you expect him to be able to
uvmap it
texture it
export it
code it
then send to you
remember he said his a noob cant expect all that from him.. Maybe ask what he can and cant do? i would think if he made it awile back and its not uvmaped or textured then i would say he might not know how (i may be wrong tho) just yeah maybe ask if he knows how rather then just stating "make it work". not very nicwe lol

i doubt he even knows that all these things need to be done. But i didnt know that either at one point. A little more respect towards others and their work would be good though i agree.

Aye, he didn't say "make it work" like you implied either, he was just saying to associate the model with the code for the RIB in game at the moment and probably doesn't understand how difficult that is.

Yep made it a while back, when i was more interested in modeling.
I just had it laying around on my pc :-P

If this has to be your last resort or placeholder you could try placing a static model of a boat, already in PR and make it a triggerable object, with the trigger at the docks.
So you would jump into the boat at the docks and press E and the boat will start moving in a straight directon.
Kinda like a Tram that moves on straight rails and stops at a set destination.

I havent tried this but im 70% sure that it might work. I might use this idea in the later devolopment of my map. Theres still a 30% chance of it screwing up just like the cargo systems on all the BF2 vehicles.

Try it out, if you get desperate. :D
