Commander in SP

IS there any way to get an AI commander? when i call area attacks it says my team doesn't have a commander. And when i am commander, how do i call in an area attack? OR the laser thing on the binocs? I see the green square, call it in, nothing. Please help, thanks

Most area attacks take time to 'arm' themselves, so they won't be available right from the start.
Usually around 15-30 minutes depending on the weapon and sometimes map layout.

There is always a bot commander on duty unless you decide to be the commander.
When you leave, a bot takes over again.

Some messages are remnants of vBF2, so don't always believe the lady on the radio

Human commanders can't call in area attacks by themselves (might look into changing this in the future) and bot soldiers don't request area attacks when you are commander, so you can see the hang up.

Bot commanders can call in area attacks with or without human help.

Believe the only kits that have a SOFLAM (special binocs that have the ability to call in area attacks) are the officer and sniper kits???

I couldn't spot people as a squad leader cause there was no commander. But I could as a squad member. Why is this?

Meaning you could call out infantry or tank 'spotted' as a member of the squad, but not SL?

I want to play as commander just to learn about it.

So my question is:

As the commander, whenever i press the tab key on my keyboard it says
"You can only acces the command screen in the command post"
before i can begin to give orders.

WHERE IS THE COMMAND POST IN THE MAPS ?? I CANT FIND IT, WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE.
WHERE SHOULD I BE PLACED TO BE ABLE TO COMMAND ??
