PR problems

Hello, synce i installed PR i am having some problems.i looked for a solution but i didnt finded an concrect one.
one of my problems is the crashing. i realised that if i had Xfire open, i would crash in 30minutes/in middle of the game,like, i would crash with the game still running. then i tried to close xfire becouse it had given me some problems before with other games and i was able to play for mutch longer. BUT after 1 map round, when the other map starts loading, the game just crashes. there is no special error message, i just got that windows vista message "PR.exe has stop working" and he bar filling up saying "were looking for a solution":...

that crash problem is my 1st problem by the way these are my specs:
(pc : asus n51vf)
WIndows vista home premium 32mb
intel core duo T995 2.66GHZ (2 CPUs)
NVIDIA geforce GT 130M (1gb)
4bg Ram
directx 10


the other problem is that my net, is normal in other games but when playing PR in sometime in some servers(mabe in some maps) i start lagging and suddently my ping goes over 600 and 800... and i get the mesage "there is a problem with your connection" and it keeps appening and happening, sometimes i get kicked becouse of ping others i dont. but wile playing normal bf2.. nothing like this happen.

Hi Jimykx.

Try this for your Crash to Desktop problems

Q: I am crashing to desktop when loading/changing levels.
Q: I am getting a lot of lag on levels.

A: The most common cause of this is that you are running out of memory (though there are other causes). BF2 was a memory intensive game, and PR only increases on that.

First, you can try lowering your video settings, in particular, Textures. If that doesn't help or fix your issue, you can try increasing your virtual memory.

If that STILL doesn't work, you can try patching your bf2.exe to allow it to use more than 2GB of memory. This is only useful if you indeed do have more than 2GB of memory. Firstly, you want to backup your current bf2.exe in your "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2" (default install location) folder. To do this, simply rename it from bf2.exe to bf2.exe.original. You should back it up incase you have any issues in the future. Now you need to download the patched bf2.exe. This can be found in THIS zip file (THIS one if your using the EA Downloader version) (If you get a virus warning, ignore it, just a false positive). Then simply extract it next to bf2.exe.original, and your good to go.

Also, you say the lag happens on some servers but not others, do you remember which servers they were?

i'm trying to run with low textures.... well i'm not crashing.... but the game rreeeeealy sux like this .... it like squares .. like battlefield 1942 lol xD. i prefer not to hurt my eyes than to not crash lol xD, isnt thre another solution??????? well and the connectiomn problem?

ok, well once you used that new bf2.exe from the post see if you still crash, as that allows bf2 to use more than 2 gb of RAM.

Then try to keep a record of the servers.

wait i have a problem, my bf2.exe its not bf2.exe.. its just bf2 , of course the .exe is hidden, and if the .exe is hidden how do i rename it to bf2.exe.original ???

well i patched it, now it is better not so lagy and i just crash sometimes when the 2 map is loading, but i can fix that just by entering PR again xD.
the connection problem i think it might be from my rooter , i dont know, but i would aprecciate if you had anything more to tell me about the connection problem in the game.

Well have you anymore information, are you wireless or wired?

What sort of connection speed have you got?

Have you spoken to your ISP to see if their is a problem in your area?

well actually i am wireless, but i think i am finding my problem... normaly my wireless conection was good even with doors and windows closed, but now if i close my windows and stuff i cant get has many conection has i had before. i have 10mb of internet speed. my rooter doesnt have wireless, but i atatchd to it some broadband wireless modem or something from SMC, so i can now have wireless. the signal used to be cool, but now has i sayd its kynda weak.
