You wasted all that time on assets for the British and US Army.ANd with that "deviation" I can't hit ANYTHING!.Black hawk down is my favorite movie ! And you call yourself a DEV team...You couldn't even make a Modification if it ran off the Source engine .You make me want to play Vanilla battlefield 2 on Strike at karkand , no vechiles trying to snipe a guy while he bunny hops across the screen

I repeat, we need to recreate a rope by copying SOME parts of the grapplehook-codes...

Fastropes would involve grapples, don't worry ;)

But grapples as they are in their current state won't do, they need a few lines of code added and such.

You might want to create a thread in the community modding section.

Since you appear to know what you're talking about, and are serious about this, I think you'll find some people to help you with it, as often as it is suggested^^

But I think this thread will end up locked soon.

thx mates, I'm not a real coder... I just have some ideas, cause I thought i knew how the engine works and because I was skimming through several tweaks/codes. But my problem is: I AM NOT A CODER, just have ideas etc. but I don't know how to code it correctly (e.g. just for adding a passenenger seat => about 50lines of code ! ! )

But now seriously. What makes you think that you are the first guy on planet with this idea? I mean according to your join date you are pretty new to the forums. Have you ever tried to use the serch function on the word "fast ropes"? I'd eat a hat if the exact same idea was not already suggested and even much tried.

No, he just isn't convinced it's impossible. He does know it's been suggested many times. I'd still say: If some of you would like to try to find new ways, why don't you just do? Maybe you're lucky and find a way.

It's ingame. After a heli takes some damage, the pilot loses control. Didn't work on dedicated servers when I last informed myself about it, dunno what the current state of that is.

Yes, only in singleplayer if you use PRSP, or for example when you click "Host LAN server" - That was in 0.7 or so though, dunno what it's currently at.

I don't think anyone necessarily wants to "stop" you, j0g32. I just think the general feeling about the topic is: less talk, more action (coding). Most non-new users probably view these kind of threads as the spam of the week, since most productive discussion on the topic of ropes has probably already been made. You seem to have some ideas about how to approach this feature programmatically, so I suggest you look into the current development thread on this ever-so-frequently requested feature and post your insights there. This thread is literally a troll feeding ground at the moment and only becoming more-so as posts become increasingly heated.
