About the lowered weapon stance.
I think most of us have probably seen the new third person animations in the F88 video and chuc has another one up on youtube with the M16A4.
But what I'm wondering is, when they do make it into the game, do we get first person animations to match, or will it still look like you're pointing your gun forward and holding the middle of the handguard in first person?

Chuc, from YouTube comments wrote: Just to clarify a few things -
There won't be any changes in 1p, as the fire animation blends horribly with the standing animation, and it would involve changing more than 3 times the animations.
All the shots where the dude brings the weapon up to eye level and fires are aimed shots. The shots where it looks like he 'snaps' are hipfired.
I declare that I have won the thread!

First person animations would be so awesome - but if it's too much, then it's too much I guess.
Does someone have a link to the videos for me? Haven't seen them.
Edit: nevermind

Thats unfortunate though, it would have been really be nice with some 1p animations to make it look as cool as it does in 3p.
So there will be no changes to 1p whatsoever?

Re: About the lowered weapon stance.
Couldn't the first person view be like it is for the deployed LMG?
Oh wait, got the animations mixed up, nevermind.
Happy to see the change, shame it won't work in 1p though.

Re: About the lowered weapon stance.
The new stance looks awsome but there's a comment on the youtubeclip that captures a concern of mine well:
"Just wondering, can the firing animation be made longer? What I mean is that when the trigger is pulled instead of just gun recoiling it would still stay up and then be lowered nicely."
If possible i think the soldier should keep his firearm in the "ready position" (todays stance) a while after he's fired it. It looks strange that he lowers it to the relaxed stance a second after he shot at something tbh.

Re: About the lowered weapon stance.
I noticed earlier that we have the twitchy issue of a lowered weapon stance shot with the deployed mode on the HK21E in this version.
And I'm also wondering about what job said.

Long story short, we've tried it and it causes more problems than it fixes. Namely with animation blending and how if you were to increase the duration of the fire animation, it affects all the transitions between other animations. Sure it looks fine standing still, but what if you were moving and hipfiring?

Re: About the lowered weapon stance.
And sad as it sounds, majority of the time PR players are firing AND moving... bad habits of FPS players, already it makes in game characters look retarded (rarely IRL will you be firing while moving esp side strafing but in PR its done all the time) but changing animation for recoil as chuc said, would make it look much worse

The moving and hipfiring currently looks kinda silly; it's a shame you can't fix it :S

Maybe change it so you can't fire when moving?
Theres really no point in doing that anyway cause of deviation.

Yeah, I kind of like that idea.qaiex wrote:Maybe change it so you can't fire when moving?

Maybe even have it so you can fire while on the move, but only if you're looking down your sights/optics? For example, having your sights up on the move while room clearing or in CQB.
This might lead to more people choosing iron sights in CQB too.
The only downside that I could see from this idea would be that it might lead players to camp even more than they do now.

Re: About the lowered weapon stance.
In really close quarters you shoot in real life too, of course. How would you clear a room if you'd have to stand still to shoot every time? No, it must be possible to shoot while moving. Having to have the sights up may be a solution, but I don't even know if it's possible anyway - the Devs will see I guess.

I did indeed miss your post at first. I saw it when I posted, and theSilly_Savage wrote:Try reading through my post one more time, perhaps you missed it.
"Having to have the sights up may be a solution"
was actually referring to your post, though the whole thing was still a response to the post above yours.
Maybe I should have written "May indeed be a solution" or something, but I didn't know I'd offend anyone if I didnt....

I'm sorry but you are completely 100% wrong.qaiex wrote:Maybe change it so you can't fire when moving?

If you can't fire while moving this will happen:
You enter the building you know the enemy are in, they are prone in a doorway, you come up the stairs...
They shoot you
you can't shoot back because you'd have to stop moving, but you can't stop moving because 1) you need to make room for ur comrades coming behind, 2) you need to check all the corners of a room and you can't do that by standing in a doorway.
