I have noticed on some maps like mustifar, that the US gan win the game before 1/2 the people on the server has spawned. Ive seen it done with out anybody dieing on either team. So why not allow the MEC/PLA to place roadblocks? Each Mabey concreet roadblocks for the enginers, which can be destroyed by C4. and wooden ones that can be destroyed by heavy gunfire.
Only avalible once per spawn. and are destroyed when you die.
failing that make a starting spawn delay on the SUV to that most of the server can spawn before somone with a fast computer can solo across the map in 30 seconds.
Roadblocks for Extraction maps?

Welcome to the forums!
I agree that roadblocks are a good suggestion but I think the way to do it is to get a heavy jeep jackknifed across the road, blow it up, and hide AT mines behind/to the sides of it. That way, the convoy either drives straight into the vehicle, then the mines, or attempts to avoid the vehicle, and hits the mines. Because the convoy will have multiple vehicles in it, remember to put down multiple mines down.... SLAMS can also be placed there as the convoy will slow down when it hits a roadblock. Around these roadblocks, it is vital to set up a squad of about 4 guys at different heights and angles so that they are not easily taken out by a recon unit/the convoy itself.

SOunds similar to ETW. They had alevel where a tank had to move down a set path, but enemies could disable it and there where road blocks in the way. While the other team could repain the tanks and clear the road blocks.
PERsonnaly this would fit really well with the logistics vehucle idea - brillantly simple:
- can repair all vehicles and buidlings and bridges (engis can only do bikes and jeeps)
- can re-arm every thing in the game
- can place road blocks ! (and remove them)
Armed with a single 7.62mm or 50 cal machine gun, operate by a driver and gunner.
P.S it is also superbly realsitic, many examples, also clear mines if vehicle mines where added.

Show me a video of a single guy producing a single use road block from his black and then I'll believe it's "superbly realistic".
Maverick's completely right, we've already got the resources to create roadblocks using vehicles wrecks and good teamwork. You're appealing for a single player to hold the answer to Xtract mode, the key to it is in teamwork, and that's already been produced. No more are the days where one man can be certain to hold victory over a certain aspect of the game, you need more than one to have an effect.
And anyway, all maps with troublesome routes already have roadblocks. For example, the ones on the high bridges on Mashtuur City. By the way, Mustafar is a planet in Star Wars, not a city in BF2.

quite hard for people to work as a team when before they have spawned 1 american with a good computer is already half way across the map.
What about something like empires? The SUV spawns damaged(say looks like a flat tyre) and Engineers must repair it to 100% before it is able to move. Though this would mean every spawned SUV would need repaired but would also mean people wont be as willing to scuicude run the SUV.
Before you say something I relise Empires is a HL2 mod, But they did have a BF1942 version that had this working. anothe roption would be make a garage with a breakable door and the SUV spawns inside. The door would need destroyed by explosives before the SUV can get out. Possibility of a door into the garage that only a player can fit though not a vehicle.
Alternative to destroying the door, SF had usable bridges, perhaps something like that that would slowly open the door.
If you can get usable bridges into PR then some bridge choke points could be more interesting if thers a bridge-island-bridge with a tower in the middle that controlls both bridges.

I've never had a problem with Xtract maps being won instantly. If you play with at least 16 players you shouldn't ever see that problem. For every guy who can load fast, there's always going to be a guy on the other. It's down to laws of averages. You must realise, the background story to Xtract isn't "Steal the SUV and get it across the boarder before the MEC cops catch you", so 'jacking it from a garage doesn't seem very 'real'. Putting drawbridges in Mashtuur to slow down the rate of play doesn't seem very practical either.
Most threads about Xtract are about why it's stacked towards the defenders who can easily take the vehicle out, I'm surprised you're complaining about the ease of the operation. It takes a single rocket to take out that thing, it's not that difficult if you just work together and get some good recce. I always play commander and use the top down view to report the position of the SUV.

I played one on a 32 player server. Somone jumped in the SUV so I jumped in a hummer picked up a passender and followed. a 2nd hummer followed behind me. I rolled the hummer and the 2nd humemr picked me up. The only combat We saw was 1 rocket scrappingt he back of this 2nd hummer when we were at the hill at the hotel. The round ended with everybody ona 0 0 0 score. all that in under a minute.
The only MEC I saw was that rocket guy. The others still trying to spawn. Perhaps altering the map so that the side routes round the city are out of bounds?

i find it AMAZINGLY easy to win on the Xtraction maps when im on MEC you just spawn at the exit to the city with AT run as fast as you can to the last point on the map closest to the end and just sit under a tree...wait for the convoy to come within say 20 metres pop out and blast the SUV to buggerey isnt hard as in most xtraction maps the suv is forced to reduce its speed....
another strategyfor a roadblock needing at least 2 vehicles better with three is to blow them like this on a road:
___________
................ _____________ ....Excuse the full stops i dont know how to create a space..
then have one still mobile hanging round a corner, as the 'unsuspecting' americans try to weave through through the reckage the mobile vehicle comes charging round the corner...at same time the leading hummer/SUV is taken out by an AT dude sitting on a roof same at the back but without the vehicle then everyone opens up fomr all different angles and heights cutting the americans to shreds.....
