Perfect Settings

Post by theiceman »

Hey, I was palying Muttrah City today and i was really mad cause when ever i fly over the city i Lagg alot. I can play all maps except: Ramiel, Muttrah, Barracuta, and Falljhe.( or how ever u spell it)

I was wondering what the perfect video setting would be for my computer. I have a...

Vista 32 bit

2.0 GHz dual core cpu

GeForce 9500 GT GPU

4 GB RAM (but vista only see's 3.5 GB)

Now if you you could help me by putting Low Medium or High next to the categrys that will make PR look the best it can but still be able to play every map with little to no lagg

Terrain-
Effects-
Geometry-
Texture-
Lighting-
DS-
DL-
AA-
Texture Filturing-
View Scale-

right now i have

Terrain- MED
Effects- MED
Geometry- HI
Texture- MED
Lighting- MED
DS- MED
DL- MED
AA- x0
Texture Filturing- MED
View Scale- 100

now what will make PR Run its best :? : :? : :? :

i only have a 8400 and i still run everything on high with next to no lag except the Server lag and that damn APC lag bug
oh but i have DS and DL on Medium so i can see into buildings.

and only maps you should worry about lag is Fools road, Mestia, Bi Ming, Quinling and any other maps with OVER 9000 TREEES!!!

:P

but i suggest

Terrain- hi
Effects- hi
Geometry- HI
Texture- hi
Lighting- hi
DS- MED
DL- MED
AA- x0 ------if it is turned on it will give you Black PBSS with Vista
Texture Filturing- MED ----i dunno.
View Scale- 100

It "CAN" give you Black Punkbuster Screenshots, some servers do not allow this and

most do(Talking about BF2v for that rule),

Basically the SS let's an admin see you're GUID and EVERYTHING on you're screen from

aimbots to TS overlay the hole works Xfire chat too.

theiceman. i have

- 2 GB RAM.

- AMD Athlon(tm) 64X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.20 GHz.

- Windows Vista Basic 32 Bit.

- My Resolution is above the 1000 and under the 1200 i forget.

I suggest playing on Chicago hardcore that's where I play and get no lag but GiB I get lag

I think their on a lynx not a BOX server or something like that, i don't know much about servers :p .

Best recommendation for your settings, is medium settings with hardware sound switched on or X-fi if you have a decent x-fi card installed.

Post up your video-card model mate, but medium is just fine. I was seeing great performance on my Gf's PC with a 7900GS and a 8800GTX with almost identical hardware.

Post your GFX card for comparison.

That should be fine mate. Medium settings should be fine, if you have all the right forceware drivers installed. What version of the forceware drivers are you using which you downloaded from nvidia.com ?

Can you post the results of the suggestions we posted?

Have you upgraded any of your drivers yet? sound/video/chipset etc as it's always nice to know someone is working again.
Have you disabled any devices yet?

the version of the forceware should be in the filename / installer you found.

fire up the nvidia control panel for more info.
Add me on xfire if you like, happy to go through anything you need on there.

Set your shadows to "low" instead of "medium". May help as well.
