Re: Which side do you prefer on Insurgency?
I hold no real preference. Both sides have elements I enjoy...
Blufor has teamwork...toys...
Opfor has.........umm....We can die as many times as we like.....errrrmm...Ambushing...waiting to spring your ambush. Setting IEDs, waiting to set off said IEDs. Shooting at the enemy with AKs, getting killed because they have optics....killing them and stealing their optics.
Come to think of it. Besides ambushing idiots with LMGs, stealing blufor kits is just the best. Pretty much makes the game playable. The only thing deadlier than a soldier/marine with a SAW is Haji with a SAW.
Let me add to my post.
I like playing INS on Pub servers. On the mumble server.....it's date rape. The ins can't even mount a defense. They get picked apart before they can fight back. The hole team just gave in about 20 minutes into the game. Not even setting up hideouts.
Sooo on teamwork based servers. I'm going to avoid team Haji like my ex GF...

I like to play both,as BLUFOR I usually get to do more, since you should keep advancing, you get some action. As Insurgent I hardly ever saw any contacts to be honest (Yes I´m pretty new to the game
),but I always had a good laugh with my Squadmates.

Re: Which side do you prefer on Insurgency?
Its obvious you are going to have pleasant experience playing as Blufor. I have very pleasant online FPS experience when I get 2 to 1 kill death raio ( like 15 kill 7 death ) , and its usually so on Blufor side. (caused by scope/ no scope difference) Plus, you get to enjoy taking out infantry using armored vehicle cannons. I know how much fun that is because I like to play Kashan alot.
Its great way to relieve stress by winning against other player online.
Also, since majority of Players are from either USA or UK, some times Europe, peoples play much more eagerly, seriously, to win, and much more cooperative to achieve the goal for their native country depicted in game.
But, I like to play Insurgent and always does. Because it is even more pleasant to win against players who joins server and are expecting to 'pwn' everyone else for their big ego.
It is also very satisfying when winning as Insurgent because you done it without tanks, or IFV, or Scope guided laser blaster, or magic backpack that you can reincarnate again and again. An arsenal opposite team is using to 'pwn' you online for their pleasure, or at least what they thought will help them do that.
I don't like Taliban faction in here, because that faction is required to operate in teams and have almost same low quality arsenal like Insurgents. Which is only taking disadvantage from Insurgent side and Coalition side. You have bad arsenal and have to "march in line" like Conventional military, which makes you vulnerable instead of being unconventional and stab in the back like Insurgent.

Re: Which side do you prefer on Insurgency?
always gotta be BLUFOR. especially on Fallujah.
i have this wierd thing where i hate shooting at Marines...even if it is just a game haha
nah, i find playin as BLUFOR is better, as theres more to it. e.g. finding caches, hideouts, shootin hadjis etc. its like the whole "hunt", rather than just defending caches and killing people.

Re: Which side do you prefer on Insurgency?
Pre 0.86 - Insurgents:
Both forces evenly matched but because insurgents didn't have the fancy toys BLUFOR had (armour, humvees etc etc) they had to rely on proper infantry combat tactics and teamwork to maximise effectiveness, using their weapons' strength's against the enemies weaknesses in order to win, in some cases even making sure that first bullet put the guy down cause the SKS sucks in a full auto firefight - this is what made insurgency fun.
Since 0.86 - BLUFOR without a doubt:
BLUFOR now have even more toys- scoped m249, more use of attack LB etc.
Insurgents' weapons have been nerfed so as a BLUFOR that threat is much less of a concern.
Insurgents' spawn system has been broken (BLUFOR forces come near to cache - and thereby hideout, hideout becomes unspawnable, insurgents can't spawn, BLUFOR takes cache, rinse and repeat).
The fact that there are only two caches (and 2 RPGs on the cache) now makes little difference. "WAIT" I hear the uninformed theorists yell, well too fking bad PR is all about getting out of the classroom. What now happens is this: Since PR is still seeing an influx of noobs, most of the time the revealed caches only have 8 people defending them, the rest of the team are either on an unrevealed cache (in their mind a purple shield means "DEFEND HERE RIGHT NOW") or just randomly distributed across the map. Add to this the still-present and persistent problem of losers coordinating with BLUFOR giving them exact cache coordinates. Oh and 2 RPGs don't count for sh1t when they've been nerfed and your backup weapon is a knife. This is the first version where I've seen so many RPGs still sitting on the cache (of course the Al Quds and PKM are gone, they're worth something) only time this changes is when a noob picks up the RPG, fires it once and drops it like a used tampon, never really picking it up again.
The only real time BLUFOR now loses is when it's populated by Blackhawk Down wannabes who run around kit/asset whoring, lone wolfing and contributing to the over-riding problem of the BLUFOR side not using teamwork and rather relying on silver bullets such as magical kits, armour and other assets to save the day: I'm seeing alot more humvees / logistic trucks just left by some building, and you can bet 9/10 times there's a m249 or sniper kit up on that rooftop just waiting to be knifed (oh and in case BLUFOR was wondering how they're losing tickets so quickly, that humvee/truck gets its *** blown up too, costing additional tickets). Pathetic assets whores who have a 10 minute flaming match with some other guy/squad because they "stole" the stryker, and then go solo into some dark alley without infantry or humvee support and get the damn thing blown to pieces. This is happening alot - yall might wanna blame that for BLUFOR sucking pre 0.86 and post 0.86, rather than the insurgents having over-powered weapons.

I loathe being on the insurgent team. Its the bane of my life. Whenever im on the insurgent team its the usually the best map with the best team next so i stick it out and spend around faffing about , taking nothing seriously. Civi charges ftw.

Blufor, for the most part, I like looking for then fighting the insurgents (in which the battles can get larger and last a little bit longer then even conventional vs conventional army)
I do like playing as an insurgent from time to time though, just to get my ambush fix
