I was wondering if were possiable to have achivemnets for number of hours in assets just like bf2 you have so many hours or goals (so many troop drop offs, so many supply drop offs) to get awards for certain things.
This would be implemented in cetain kits ie if you fly get a pilot kit you would have like bronze, silver gold wings or even ranks pertaning to certain kits rather than wings, It woulkd be usefull because poeple could see just by looking at there name how good they were and dicourage noobs from flying,
This may get complicated now for evey troop you drop off you get points towards your wings, every succesful supply drop you get points, but for every crash you loose points and if youre shot down maybe half the points of a crash simple when youre reading it but obviously complex system to implement and may not be able to be implemented just wanted to see wat people thought

i dont know whether thats possible correct me if im wrong DEVs but dosent it require a huge network database because the fact that it would need to be ranked

Would be hard to implement since the original BF2 award system is being used for displaying various personal messages to player (like kits being allocated etc.).
I dont think that gold wings would allow players to recognize a good pilot - they already know who's good and who's 'unknown' by just looking at his/her name.

This has been discussed many times. As much as it would be kool to implement, does a higher rank really mean a better player in vBF2?
The guys/gals I'd seen with very high ranks tended to be more tard-ish and stat padded for the sake of getting points rather than peforming well in whatever duty they had for that round.
Rank & point incentives promote stat padding and point grabbing techniques rather than playing for the team.
If it was all about number of hours in the air for aircraft and choppers, I'd be all for it I guess as that may give you an idea if the pilot knows what he is doing but at the end of the day, stats don't really tell you much.

Some servers has its own rankladder, is it possible to edit these to fit the needs of good pilots, that rank is showed...
I remember on some servers back in .7 when i had just joined the server, that i was made Corporal, then seargent etc. Because of the high scores you recive on PR.
But, if it was server based, not Global based, and each server could choose whetear to have a award/ranks sytem or not?

I understand many points that have been made however the point I was trying to make is the rank up is adjustable both ways if you crash then you loose points and possiable rank, and understand that prejudice may insue because people with no rank will not get as many passengers as those as higher rank.
However if this were to be implemented then people would understand the element of this and give no ranked pilots a chance to prove them selves if they fail its the end of the world (well maybe for some hahaha), but then people would know who is and isnt a good pilot and there for the people who arnt would then get less useage of the asset and in theory would get bored and leave it alone.
