Connection to Servers

Post by Mulor1 »

Well, my problem is that when i play on the game in the middle of a battle, my game will say "problem with internet connection" then the game will freeze and I have to press esc to get out of the match. Then in any server i go into they all say the same, also if anyone would like to know I am using Windows Vista which is pretty annoying during some of my games. Thanks you all for the help you may give me. :)

Computer Specifications:
-Windows Vista 32 bit operating system
-Dell Inspiron 1545 (laptop)
-Wireless Router: Activetec M1424WR
-Ram: 3 gb
-Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T3400 @ 2.16GHz

Thank u for all your help :)

um... the only thing i can think about is either your not getting very good internet where you are playing from your wireless router, or that the server is lagging... but i thought the second was fixed, so idk...

i also know my vista laptop vidio card is not compatible, and that it gives me intense lagg, and sometimes i had the canot connect to server error, but i think yours should be compatible....

Thanks for the info, it seems like my card is compatable to the game and I am getting from 2 to 4 bars of internet connection where i am. Usually i get 2 bars on a bad day and 4 bars on a good day (i have more bad days than good ones), so that might be the problem, i'll try it out some other place in my house.
Thanks bloodthirsty_viking for the help :-D

well, i had some problems like that, go on youtube or google, and search for : how to increase your wi fi connection or how to increas the range of your wireless router/how to boost your wifi or something like that. you will find some pretty cool videos and some pretty cools solutions, that include thinks like paper.. glue... and some ... that metal paper that i dont know the name. so they will reflect the wireless waves to were theyr most needed. (i did the things that were on youtube and it raised me up 2 signal bars)

Don't use wireless to game if you can avoid it.
I seem to remember a bug with Vista wireless, that by default the system looks for a better signal or connection every two minuets. This leads to lag spikes or 'problems with connection' errors. The fix (or work around) is to set your wireless to only use the setup you choose and I believe that is done by disabling the 'check for better connection' FEATURE!

Always make sure PB and your firewall is up to date.

Good luck

well guys i just read of a article above my post and it is in red, also i think this is a way to get out of not having to leave every match that the connection is broken. The https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr-support/18371-connection-problem-troubleshooting.html this like is to the problem, so if anyone reads this post and has the same problem they can go to the post and hear how to get by it. :D
