Yeah, I'm refering to the PRMumble guide steps. The error only appears when I rightclick and run it as administrator, if I click on the actual shortcut nothing happens.
None of the guides out there mentions anything about placing Mumble in a specific folder so that shouldn't be a problem (I mean so it can "initialize a database" or whatever that is supposed to mean).
I have tried different mirrors and the error still shows. Vanilla Mumble is actually working flawlessly but somehow PRmumble just won't work.Dr2B Rudd wrote:Where did you download from? if you can try a different mirror to make sure it wasn't a bad download.
The only other thing I can think of is installing vanilla mumble from mumble's site to see if that will install, you won't be able to use that on the PR server, but it could at least tell us if the problem is in the PR mumble or a base problem.

How about any software firewalls? Hardware firewalls?
Check you events log and see if anything was logged about mumble not being able to start.

Hmm I think you're onto something ;p When I rebooted the computer I didn't manage to get into safemode the first time, so I let it boot normally. I tried to start PRmumble as fast as I could (before any processes could run basically), and by surprise, it actually started ^^Mr.Hyde wrote:Try one last thing before you go.

Can't imagine something specific to PRmumble 0.5 preventing it from working. That is odd.

It took awhile to hunt down but I found out the QWAVE (Quality Windows Audio Video Experience) service was the culprit. I disabled that and I'm good to go. I don't know what repercussions will come about from disabling the service, but all videos, games, music sound fine, and plus now I can join Mumble again.

I saw he was running Media Center Edition and so do I (I see I didn't mention it in my previous posts), and it seems I had that QWAVE service running as well.
