Boat Paddles

Post by arakis »

Hello I want to suggest some paddles for the crew of the small
boats.
When they enter enemy territory the would give away their position
to the op forces.
So the use their paddles to slowly land on the beach, other river side, etc.
what do you think?

greetings

I dont see how having both engine and paddle options on the same vehicle could be done tbh, but nice idea.

Is it needed?
I mean, you could just jump out and swim.
But they also could add a slow and silent speed to the boat.
An acctual paddling process sounds kinda hard to do and isnt worth the work imo.

agree with priby, like a troll speed and then u can fish for bass while on the way it,,, anyone ever notice the wake lines come up a few hundred metres ahead on some maps, u can see where the boat is coming from without even seeing it

Switch weapon? Reverse boost on shift to slow down instead? I dunno how the animations would work though.

If the engine would work as weapon recoil pushing the boat forward could work :) And this is all based on what I have read on forums HAHAHAAA!

One of the very few original ideas... I like it. No idea if it can be done, and it's a pretty minor point, but I like it :)

canoe on bi ming ftw

edit: had a nice jpeg but it didnt load for some reason. anyway i actually like this idea to some degree. those boats always ticked me off. never used because they are too noisy, and not interesting enough to bother with.

I really do like this idea and it would be a really nice addition to PR.

i like the slower more silent boat speed the paddles arent that great an idea i dont think because.. as much as it would be freakin awesome, is it that realistic and itd just be a cool adition

i dont see many people use the boats anyway and i've gone solo with boats before or at least one other person because there were no choppers up and people were sitting around..

would i really take out a paddle and start making my way to shore alone so no one hears or sees me?

Could be useful on some maps(at least the noise reduction). Just think about:

- silent insertion on Muttrahs mosque at the beginning
- get around the main island on Bi Ming more stealthy
- traverse along the river at Kozelsk (as Russian) to get to the north of the first flag unknown

Would be nice to see this happen, but....

Without night maps this is pretty useless imo. the only defence you have in those things is speed.

thats ****, sorry.
A strategie of silence is more better than just quick pass by the enemy and
jump out the boat when the allready noticed you...

Please tell me the map where a boat isn't noticed going passed?

the only map I can think of where this would be of use is Muttrah

and that would be only if you took the boat, went down the far eastern side, then paddled along the sea front

Bi ming, the boats are easy to see
Tad Sae, the boats are easy to see
etc

I think the tactic works better IRL because the idea is the enemy don't know your coming.

But ingame...they pretty much know your coming.

There was some talk about using weapon recoil to move vehicles, perhaps with that? Though I'd take paddles off and just use two levels on the motor, fast and noisy or slow and quiet.

Or, unlimited boost? No boost, slow with little sound. With boost fast with biiig sound.
