Sorry, but we don't take sound advice from youtube- the sound is compressed awfully and will never, ever, provide a decent representation of the real noise :)

Darkass, please listen... we cannot simply watch a youtube video and then replicate a sound like it (or pull the sound off the video).

Sound is very compressed in youtube videos, so it is not very high quality. On top of this, the sound in the original video is often compressed prior to uploading, and may have been recorded on a very cheap microphone (such as the one in a digital camera or mobile phone) in the first place.

As such, the noises in those videos cannot be considered accurate representations of the sound of a GAU-8 being fired... they give a rough example sure, but nothing that's worth including in the mod.

I was lucky enough to be on base one time to hear the test fire and at a pretty descent distance it was a little deeper then that, but then again it was on the ground and most likely firing blanks.

Darkas, this is not how sound is replicated in games.

do some more research on game sounds and how they work then repost.

Both Masaq and Crazy have told you its not how we determine how things sound, and we have highly trained Military Advisors on the team who have first hand experience etc.

Can this get locked?...
