Black screen crash

(i use windows xp not windows 7)
Any time when i try to enter bf2 1.41 or pr.exe my screen goes black, goes to destkop, goes black again and then kicks me out to desktop...

I tryed to delete profiles folder from my documents , i added this to my pr.exe file +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1024 +szy 768 ... etc etc....

I had exactly the same problem but with windows 7 so try this you have to go to documents-bf2-profiles-default-video-VideoSettings.setResolution change this to your desktop resolution ie mine was set to 800x60060hz so i changed it to 1024x76885hz and worked, if you change this and it dosent work do the same thing and go into sound instaed of video and change the sound settings in the list half way down the list there will be a line and at the end of it , it will say software change to hardware this should do it, i think the video change will fix it first time but if not try this and it will work.
