I cannot launch PR

Ok, i installed all the files core levels and patch, i tried launching the game and the following happens:

the games logo box comes up like with bf2 as if going to play, then after several seconds the screen goes black, goes brighter, returns to black, lights up one last time then just returns to desktop without and error message or anything.

i tried adding the fullscreen command thing to the end of the shortcut to make it run in a window to see if i got a error message, i did this and i got the following error message:

Hey.

You sure you installed the right files?

If you only have BF2 installed, you need both 0.86 core and levels, the patch file is only for users with the previous version installed (0.85).

what are ur system specs? casue of you dont ahve lets say enough ram that that might happen. if you dont know how to look up ur system spec go to the start menu, click ran and type in dxdiag and tell us what it says

Hi,

I'm getting exactly the same error. Game loads up fine, I go to join a server and after it's finished loading it just goes to a black screen and crashes to desktop.

PC Specs:

AMD Athlon 5400+
3GB Corsair XMS
ATI Radeon 4850 512mb
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty
Windows Vista 32-Bit

Any help would be appreciated!

I installed BF2, patched it to 1.41, installed PR 0.86 core, installed the maps in that order. I've tried using the BF2.exe memory patch, and resetting the settings kept in the My Documents/Battlefield 2 folder to no avail

Well these two problems are not the same, insje, I need you to run it in windowed mode for me, and see what the error is you get.

Robbi i installed the Core thing first, then i installed the levels, then the patch, just like it said in the instalation guide.

ok guys, i found out i didnt need to install the patch, so unistalled everything and tried re installing the core and levels, i restarted my computer and tried to play the game but im having the exact same problem as before.

does anyone know what might help? ive scoured the forums and the net and cant find anyone with the same problem ?

I have had a simnilar problem with windows 7 launch pr splash screen comes on goes balck then back to desktop no error, so heres wat i did go to documnets-bf2-profiles-default-video-VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@85Hz mine was set to 800x60060hz so i set it to my desktop resolution as shown, that is the changed line hope this helps.

hi dom i tried to do it the folder way but i dont know how to save files as the same format as in the folder, so i tried doing it ingame, the most i could get it to was 1024x768@77Hz, then i tried launching pr and it still didnt work, if you could tell me how to save files as the same as in the folder id greatly appreciate it thanks , teddy .

all you have to do is open the files in note pad and then save once you hav changed the command line

ok everyone, i changed the default resolution thing , and restarted my computer, but still its not working anyone else have any ideas?

did you change the refresh rate aLso you only changed the resolution right not the whole line?
Also try changing the sound the same way documents that way and change the line were it syas software in brackets to hardware.
