Posible to hide in light vechicle
My suggestion is easy. Just give to everyone in light vechcile like Truck, Humve, or Jichad posible to hide (by presing "Ctrl") like Tank 50.cal gunner. Ofcourse when you are hide you can't see the road but you still can drive.
Why
1.
Becouse it is more realistic(when you can see enemy shooting to you in Jichad, and you know that glass cant stop bulls what are you doing).

This has hardcoded written all over it tbh. Could be wrong though.
Either way I don't think you should be allowed to steer whilst hiding, maybe just accelerate and brake.

Norwegian police tested this some years ago. 9 mm will go straight through the sides and doors of a car.Menigmand wrote:Sorry to disappoint you, but the hull of the car won't protect you either..
As for 7.62, unless it hits the engine block passes through front to brack with no deviation whatsoever. If the bullet hits the engine block, it just ricochets off, still traveling at lethal speeds...
Some armored military wehicle have armored torpedo walls, but most don't. Not even that guarantees your safety.
Being shot at in a car gives you no protection whatsoever.

Everytime you shoot at a vehicle the driver will just duck. I'm sure I could get out of trouble everytime by doing that, even though I can't see the road.
Could be cool if insurgents could to it, only when the vehicle is standing still. To trick the Allies into getting close to a bomb car.

if enemy is at slight elevation this wont help you, if you under .50 fire your car will just blow up, if squad is firing at it - it will blow up
maybe this will need some material tweaks, so doors are penetrable by small arms fire etc. but the whole idea is good

Yea but it's still a game. Always remember to see it from the enemies view, of course it's nice for one self, but being up against it would be spammy.DankE_SPB wrote:and whats wrong with it? its a natural reaction

It's a useless animation for driving, gunners I agree with 'turning in' but as for drivers, you either shouldnt be driving there or you need to get the hell out of there. I understand you all wanting animations added to everything so you can act as if you would in real life[trust me, id be the first to be hiding behind the dashboard] but its simply not needed enough at all to warrant being worth it.

Agree to that. Cars and trucks shouldn't be any protection at all, except armoured HMMWs etc. I'm tired of people using them as light IFVs...DankE_SPB wrote: door are by small arms fire penetrable etc. but the whole

Depends on the vehicle. A HMMWV's windshield will stop 9mm and 7.62mm but not 5.56mm*.

Re: Posible to hide in light vechicle
I like this suggestion. Especially the peopl standing up in the civilian cars should have the option to lower their profile, and it should be a driver's reaction to duck lower to lower his/her own. Of course they'd experience some disadvantages (Like the inability to see where they are driving), but even without them it's not an "exploit". The civilian car materials should all be penetrable anyways, and things like RPGs and L-ATs should be able to spew their motlen metal into the cars, but that's not what's being suggested.

Re: Posible to hide in light vechicle
Define 7.62 - You might be protected against the insurgents AK's, but I doubt a G3 will be stopped if 5.56 isn't. So on most conventional maps, there is no caliber you'd be protected against, except from 9mm, but why would anyone try to shoot through a HMMWV with his sidearm or PDW?Solid Knight wrote:Depends on the vehicle. Re: Posible to hide in light vechicle
Now this seems a good idea actually. Or have it that ONLY the bomb car can do it as the car itself is pretty weak and can be taken out rather easily with a .50 Cal. This way at least they might stand a chance against BLUFOR. But then again it may make them over powered and mean bomb cars are WAY to powerful and unbalanced. Just an idea.GoreZiad wrote: Could be cool if insurgents could to it, only when the vehicle is standing still. To trick the Allies into getting close to a bomb car.
