Sounds like a bum-eye opening experience :s'[R-DEV wrote: JS.Fortnight.A']Otherwise the community can hunt him down and have their way with him.

yes., Talk to DetPak. He's a Sound Guru,'[R-DEV wrote:eggman']Any sound guys out there?

He did the sounds for many maps in RTCW, POE for COD, and a few others. Also did a weapon sound library for some other Q3A-based games.
Ive seen him around w/BF2.
He'd be the best guy I'd know to handle this project.

this donating commercial sounds to a public mod that is creating a Limited Liability Corporation is pretty scarry. I just hope everyone knows what they are getting into and what they could or do not own. WOW! This type of things tear mods apart... Why would you use some one elses sounds anyway? Why your at it purchase the models too... Im just blown away with this mods ethics...wow... Create your own sounds!

yes, it would take us as the community rather a lot of time and expense (and not to mention danger!) to go out with recording equipment and obtain these sounds.
That is why the company selling these professional sound packs is in existence! you don't think that the big hollywood companies go out and record every sound they use in their films live do you?

lemme just roll my T-90 out my garage and i'll let a DEV put his moblie phone next to it to record the sound.ghosty wrote:Your missing the point... but thats ok.
Seriously, for a FREE mod, how are they supposed to replicate authentic sounds?
The sound pack is a goodwill gesture from the community to the mod to make it even better. I'd rather have realistic sounds in game, than a load of new effects that sound like they've come straight from the databank of an Atari ST....
