Jamming

Post by unclejimbo827 »

I have no backround in modding whatsover and I don't know if it's possible, but I think your weapon jamming every once in a while if you are going full auto for a long time would be a nice touch. Would also cut down on the spray and pray some too, methinks.

Great work on the mod btw, makes BF2 worth keeping on my HD...

That'd only really apply for the M16 which is firing bursts anyway. The AKs practically never jam, and the L85A2 is controversial, but Pence will no doubt point out it went firing 62k rounds or something without jamming in some contest. ^_^

the L85A2 (SA80) only really jams when you let retards fire them. ie. people who cannot **** a weapon properly - recruits or non infantry types.

It's cos you both hack, my M82 jams on the most important of shots.

Also Gaz would you be calling an Air Cadet (sounds silly doesn't it, have your fun) a "non-infantry type"? :D Think wisely.... we are your future.

Well that's it then, after firing a couple mags in prmm we now need a mini puzzle drag&drop game; "strip your weapon down for normal daily cleaning" I'm bingo on flannelet do you copy!

In AA jamming leads to alot of "GOD DAMMIT MOTHER F**KING F**ER F**K THIS BULLSH*T GAME I QUIT, BUT I WILL BE BACK IN 20 MINUTES BECAUSE I WILL GET RESTLESS AND WANT TO SHOOT SOMETHING AGAIN"

Mine often results in a PB kick for some GUID settings, what the hell is GUID and why should I care?

Jamming really is a rarity nowadays. It only happens when you used the weapon and shot with it for a veeeeeery long time without cleaning, the weapon gets seriously damaged, you use low quality ammunition or it gets extremely dirty (inside). You may not believe it, but there are loads of soldiers who dont even know how to fix a jam. Jamming is so scarce that theres no point in implementing it. Not even 1944 (which calls itself a simulation) will feature jamming - with WW2 weapons.

If you let Yanks play with Austeyrs they do the same thing. Austeyrs chrage palm down. Does lead to some funny moments though. Saying "Sir, my gun doesn't work" to the Wing Warrant Officer is not a good idea by the way.

I have. It's really rare though.
