On a recent defrag, the objects_client.zip file came up as un-defrag-able. I tried Contig.exe, which replied that the file either couldn't be defragged or wasn't fragmented.
I don't know if a fragmented objects_client.zip is the root cause of my CTDs (working through other forum-discussed options, no luck so far).
Can I uninstall the clients and reinsert a fresh install, or do I need to delete the lot of it and start fresh?
Or is there another defrag workaround?
System:
P4 2.6, 3g RAM @266 (mixed sticks), 60G IDE-HD @7200, Mobo GA-81PE1000 v2.0.
Using the download/EADM version of VBF2 w/modified bf2.exe for higher ram use.

Re: Defrag fail Objects_client.zip
I don't think your (or any) CTD's are caused by hard drive de/fragmentation.
Even if you don't defrag -any program should still work fine, other then taking a few seconds longer to load.
Mixed memory sticks can (on the other hand) cause problems.

Pulling the extra sticks will still leave me with 2G dual-channel. I'll give it a try and post results.'[R-COM wrote:SocketMan;1102401']I don't think your (or any) CTD's are caused by hard drive de/fragmentation.
