I just got PR two days ago (sweet mod guys!) but I have a problem that completely ruins it for me.
If i start up PR and join a game it works fine. I can be on for 2 hours+ -- no problems. Once the map changes, anywhere from 1-10 minutes into the game i ALWAYS get 'Connection to server has been lost' (or something similar). Like clockwork. It's very frustrating as I just joined a BMP squad and just abandoned some guy out there on his own in the middle of the desert. I bet he thinks i'm a ****!
BUT
If I reboot my computer I can connect fine. Once the map changes, connection lost after a few minutes. reboot - join again and it works. rinse and repeat.
if i join WITHOUT a reboot it just keeps disconnecting after a few minutes.
I've never had this issue before with any other game. I play quite a few games and never have any connection issues. I have 15mbps cable.
Win XP
Asus M2n-e
8800GTS 320mb
2GB DDR2
Athlon 3800+ Dual core (yeah shes old)
I've disable all my firewalls and put myself in the DMZ to test but it still happens. Not sure if anyone has any ideas here.

Re: Connection Lost after map change
have you checked the sticky? https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... oting.html
your ram is barely enough and probably is too few if your not using a page file (have it turned off)
sometimes manually updating punkbuster mysteriously helps fix seemingly unrelated problems
since you did that dmz check i dont think its your router/its firewall settings
you could also check if there are new drivers for your mobo (chipset drivers) and/or your network adapter (sometimes the one windows offers is not that bad - so its worth a try)
if you got a spare network card/ethernet port try using that one instead

Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide
Got a common QUESTION? check here first: PR:BF2 FAQ, MUMBLE FAQ
"Hello, IT! ... Yes, have you tried turning it on and off again?"
