its not so much PR is demanding on PCs its more demanding of the BF2 engine really. That is the better way to look at it.

I hate to stick my nose where it's utterly inexperienced, but what's your virtual memory set at?

Back when I let windows manage mine, I couldn't play .6 or .7, the lag was just so terrible. I bumped it up from 1GB to 4GB constant and the lag evaporated, and my fps climbed back to a playable 45-50.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

looks like i have to tell you again: http://realitymodfiles.com/ancient/BF2MemoryPatch.zip

its a fixed bf2.exe that can use more than 2gb of ram - try it, it might give you an fps boost

Hi there mate, you have a nice machine, and if its playing at 55fps...thats actually ok.

I run PR at over 100fps with my GTX275, though that sometimes jumps down when theres lots of smoke or other effects happening.

But! I used to play at 30-40fps on medium-low with my old nvidia 6800. So I learned a few tricks.

If you really want to crank out the FPS, delete your cache files in my documents/battlefield2/mods/bf2/cache

this will make ur BF2 re-optimise your shaders next time you play. Thing is, you'll have to do this every time you want to play. And on the first map load it will take ages to load because of it. But you will get an improved framerate until you shut down the game again.

maybe try some of this as well -http://realityteamwork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25

but fact is...PR looks much better than BF2. if your PR doesn't look good you might actually have a bigger problem to diagnose.

That shouldn't be happening on a 275, how much RAM you got and are you using the memory fix?

He's complainin about 55 FPS in PR? Who is this guy? Does he know anything about PR? He needs to take everything he knows about BF2 and shove it up his o.O! PR is not BF2, the only thing linking the 2 together are the engine, and thats it. Everything that can be changed has been and is way more than some snot nosed 1st person "pwnt joo" game to include the requirements to play, one of which should obviously be an IQ...

I dont get the point of having more FPS. I cant note the difference above 25-27. but I can tell you that you may improve preformance by putting the BF2.exe process in "real time" priority. in my system fallajulah west laggs when on normal priority, but runs fine at the higest one.

good luck dude.
