Hello, This is kind of a suggestion, but I don't want to get it Official by now.
I was wondering, Why does every Caracther skins as Pistols holster when only Sniper and Officer have pistols?
I would like that every classes has pistols, it would give more Realist and Utility, such when you are reloading and an ennemy show up. Or when u need to take your gun quicker, the pistol would be there. Or Even when you are out of ammo.
I think that everyone will agree that real troups do own pistols.

Re: Pistols
Well the player models are from vBF2 where everybody had a pistol and not all troops carry pistols, those are reserved for high ranking officers and whatnot, grunts get rifles.Dobs wrote:Hello, This is kind of a suggestion, but I don't want to get it Official by now.

Re: Pistols
this is more of a suggestion so it should be moved to the suggestion thread and also you should check if its been requested already because all you'll end up is with a lock.
on topic, some infantry do (through what i've read) carry a pistol. usually high ranking nco's, 2 man crewed weapons users or it would depend on the unit officers choice whether the infantry would carry a pistol or not.
now that being said, if your going to be in a squad of 6, your buddy's will most likely cover you when your reloading. imo, i'd rather finish reloading my m4 then rather taking out some 9mm and trying to engage someone. and consider the range too, don't think your gonna get much at like 50m+.
as for all the infantry having a holster, i believe all the kits are based on one model with some few modifications to specific kits (officer kit, sniper, etc)

Please do not post suggestions outside of the suggestions forum. There is a reason why there is a post-count requirement in order to post there, and that is to prevent re-suggestions, like this one. Please use search in the future.
Not every soldier in a conventional army is issued a sidearm/pistol. Pistols are generally issued only to combat troops who require a secondary weapon or whose working environment doesn't give them enough room for a full-sized rifle or carbine.
Usually only the following types of combat troops get issued sidearms:
-Officers and NCOs
-Military police and security forces
-Crew-served weapon gunners
-Snipers
-Special operations forces
-Aviators and aircrew (helicopter crewmen are sometimes issued carbines in addition to the pistol)
-Combat vehicle crew (again, sometimes carbines [SMGs in some armies] are issued in addition to or in lieu of pistols)
No it wouldn't, for the following reasons:Dobs wrote:I would like that every classes has pistols, it would give more Realist

While real troops may privately own pistols, they cannot bring them to warDobs wrote:I think that everyone will agree that real troups do own pistols.

Straight from general order numba 1. IF You get brigade commander or higher approval you can bring one, or if your unit just doesn't give a shit. My unit does, so we can't.

Re: Pistols
Apart from the obvious that has already been pointed out, I believe you're also asking about the pistols that appear to be carried by the other soldiers in PR when they don't actually have pistols.Dobs wrote:I was wondering, Why does every Caracther skins as Pistols holster when only Sniper and Officer have pistols?
Untill the factions in PR have custom models instead of the EA/Dice ones, kit geometries and loadout for the 3p models can't be edited (legally), from what I've heard.
