Reality Mod Crashes to Desktop

I have tried about 6 times to run the game and it completely crashes to desktop every time roughly about 5-10 minutes into a game. What it does is it kind of lags or some times or freezes then )PooF( - gone. It goes to desktop and it does not do any thing like have an error messege pop up or any thing. just restart the game and go again. Help Some One

I have this same problem, regular BF2 or PR both CTD. Help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah i have the same problem too, it happens to bf2 and PR. it would be nice to have some help. i tried to type in the +fullscreen 0 but it didnt work i know im doing that wrong cuz ive done it before i just forgot how.

In your PR 0860 desktop icon, right click and choose properties, then in target or destination, click at the end of the line, press space and type in +fullscreen 0 and press OK.

Load up PR, it should now open up in windowed mode, and should give you and error when the crash occurs. Then look that error up on Google.

A: The most common cause of this is that you are running out of memory (though there are other causes). BF2 was a memory intensive game, and PR only increases on that.

First, you can try lowering your video settings, in particular, Textures. If that doesn't help or fix your issue, you can try increasing your virtual memory.

If that STILL doesn't work, you can try patching your bf2.exe to allow it to use more than 2GB of memory. This is only useful if you indeed do have more than 2GB of memory. Firstly, you want to backup your current bf2.exe in your "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2" (default install location) folder. To do this, simply rename it from bf2.exe to bf2.exe.original. You should back it up incase you have any issues in the future. Now you need to download the patched bf2.exe. This can be found in THIS zip file (THIS one if your using the EA Downloader version) (If you get a virus warning, ignore it, just a false positive). Then simply extract it next to bf2.exe.original, and your good to go.

At others, can you please check what sort of temperatures your CPU and or Graphics card are getting up to please.

Everytime I try to login in and establish connection PR freezes. I guess it freezes because it just stays locked on the establishing connection page. It doesn't crash, it just doesn't do anything. Any thoughts? Much appreciated. Cheers- {PR}ShiftyEYE

Have you been able to play BF2 O.K.?
Try backing up your BF2 folder inside your documents folder. Once you have it backed up, delete the original, then restart PR and relink to your online account. If you still get CTD after relinking you should uninstall, reboot and reinstall PR.

I've got my textures set to medium, replaced my BF2.exe with that 'fixed' one, tried with and without my xfi installed and still getting crashes at a consistent amount of time after playing (around 5 mins).

Running in windowed mode only stops the terrain texture from rendering, gives no errors at all.

I'm running the Windows 7 RC 32bit and using the downloaded version of BF2.

Since uninstalling the download-able version and installing the DVD version the issue has not reoccurred.

Is this a memory.dll error I had this so i fixed it like this I got a mate to send me cff explorer made a backup of my bf2.exe opened the file in cff and change the setting to allow bf2.exe to handle more than 2gb of memory not had the problem since but I have not played it that much since I have done this but I have a mate who had the same problem and he did this and his hasnt crashed since hoipe this helps,

I have the same thing, everything seems to work fine until 5 min. into a game, then the game freezes and suddenly crashes to desktop; really frustrating. Only happens to me in PR though, i've had it happen to me in BF2 before but not at the moment. I did not have this problem with version 0.85.

right there is another thread about6 a similar problem they just installe dthe latest graphics drivers for there card and it works give it ago

well every other game works fine on my system except PR so im not sure if its the drivers

check out this one "Another fix to try when having crash to desktop issues", it worked fine for me, i had an old copy of BF2 on disc (which is not required) so it was very straightforward, hope it works for u guys as well...
