ability to put IED onto vehicles

Post by captainelite »

first off, i want to complain and whine as i can.

i know there are bomb cars, but remove those, and let me strap a bomb to any jeep or car or bike as i see fit, if i can ride a horse, id damn well love to strap a bomb to it.

ok maybe not a living thing but you get my point.

realistically, youd be able to do this, and im aware you used to but people QQ'd about it too much, so, people QQ about it in real life too, you know what else sucks, getting killed in nearly one shot. even the main bf2 game has the ability to throw on a c4 pack to cars.

i dunno, one person probably wont change anything, im just saying sometimes a car bomb is more tactical to use(for insurgent side anyways) than waiting for your potentially handicapped team to fire rockets at heavy vehicles.

secondly, as i figured out i could place bombs on cars, i backed the car up, revealed the ied. and a good15 feet-20 feet away, far enough for normal bf so i figured hey it wont kill me, well it did, it also really messed up alot of other people, the ied blast radius is HUGE, and its awesome, lame part, i said sorry, first game really, and i got banned, even after apologizing, and the admin even talking directly to me. i guess the "new players welcomed" tag on the server wasnt as friendly as it sounded.

o well, thanks for reading my btching and whining.

I think the idea is that players need transport as well as vehicles carrying explosives.

Also promotes strategic use of assets, which is a good aspect of PR

yeah i understand that too, but if they want, they could just have EVERY insurgent vehicle(cars, and guntrucks, thats it though) have the driver use fire to detonate the bomb, that way driver transports team, then goes off on his death mission. this way everyone is happy.

still angry at being banned though, we were doing really good, i mean we lost some caches, but my squad was able to defend ours extremely well, good communication and everything, which is nice because none of my friends play bf2

About being banned, just go to the relevant website (the server operators, e.g. RT is realityteamwork.com) and explain and they'll unban you.

Admins have alot of tard to deal with lately, so you probably caught one with a short fuse :) They'll understand.

I would say it is unrealistic to make every vehicle a bomb vehicle. Even having 5 or so in such a small area as Al Basrah is a little unreal. And given that Mohammad the mechanic can pump out another 5 every 20mins, one being a bigass semi truck bomb, is a little unreal. I'm not saying what we have now should be reduced, but adding any more (or the ability for every insurgent to make any vehicle a bomb vehicle) is pushing it.

Then there's the problem of detonating the bombs. If we made the IED sticky, you would have to drive up, switch to passenger seat, let him prep the phone, then blow it. It wouldn't be very effective.

The best i could suggest if you're stuck on this happening, is try to steal a Combat Engineer kit from the coalition, and find a friend who wants to help. Strap the C4 to a car, and let your friend drive it. Now you have a remote detonated bomb vehicle, and you wont lose the kit, since you will be hiding with your finger on a button, while your friend hunts down the enemy. You'll have to use VOIP or some way of telling when to blow it up, but it would surprise the hell out of a tank to be blown up by a dirt bike packed with C4.

welcome to the forums captainelite, in the future please make your thread titles more descriptive.

Yea you got to give the admins some slack they have many problem players to deal with, follow rudds advice.

As for bomb cars, the ability was removed as players like to turn EVERYTHING into a bomb car and that is generally bad for gameplay we found (in earlier versions)

I miss motor bike bombing runs. Used to have 4 or 5 guys attack armor convoys with them simultaneously. Those were the days.

Steal a Combat Engineer kit from one of the conventional forces, and use the C4 on those. C4 sticks to vehicles, as shown in this video:

Don't copy that video and do it as US, you'll lose tickets, a lot of tickets.

if you can make any car a bomb car, what happens is that everyone does. then you end up with no transportation, and a bunch of very pissed off insurgents.

Please don't come to the forums with an attitude like that. Constructive criticism and suggestions are welcomed, in the correct forums, so have some patience until you can post there.

This thread would have gotten locked there too by the way. This used to be in the game, but it was abused to hell and back, and this also meant that the other teams could do it. Suicide Humvees are not fun.

Infraction for posting in the wrong forum.
