[Vehicle] MH-47E

Post by HangMan_ »

I've been thinking about the HC2 coming to PR for the British forces and i was thinking we need an American counterpart.

The MH-47E is used by the US Army for long range helicopter insertions. It is mainly used for the Army Special Forces but i don't see how that should stop it from coming to PR, seeing as it is used by the Army.

Interesting things about the MH-47E
- It is air refuel-able (not that this is relevant in PR... yet)
- Features Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR).
- Multi-mode Radar.
- Pretty much everything the HC2 has.

This would be a good equivalent to the HC2 for the US Army in PR.

going by your link, the helicopter is used by SOA and not normal forces (on a regular basis) and the army use the CH-47 chinnok:

CH-47 Chinook

so why make a new model(or edit current one) when you can use the same as the brits?

Why would we need a MH-47 when we dont have SOAR in the game?

This is used by the US army with regular forces aswell. I thought it would be good to have more variation if we have a different chinook for the US army thats all

I've yet to see any links featuring its use by regular forces. It's a SOF aircraft and not, as far as I know, used by regular forces on anything nearly approaching a regular basis. Which means it has no real reason to be in PR, which portrays regular forces.

The CH-47, though, may and probably will, be featured with the US Army.

No, the MH-47E and G are only used by the 160th SOAR. The CH-47F is the most recent Chinook for conventional US Army Aviation. Along with the CH-47D (RAF equivalent HC2), it is not externally much different from the RAF Chinooks, except for the paint and markings. The difference is in the engines and avionics.
