BLACK SCREEN WHEN STARTING THEN CRASH TO DESKTOP

i have installed everything fine MP core, levels and single player core and map pack 1.

When i click the desktop shortcut, it goes black just like it normally would before showing the logos like EA GAMES and stuff but then it just crashes to my desktop. No logos nothing it just goes black then CTD. This is really frustrating help!

If it helps i have Vista 32 bit

Have you installed the 1.41 patch for BF2 if you havent it does that.

i thought i did that but i will try it because if had this game for a long time so i forget what im patched 2

i just patched to 1.41 but now not only does it still do that but now the same thing happens for normal bf2 now i have to re install unless someone comes up with something plz help!

I had this error a few months ago... turns out i just needed 4x the ram i had lol. How much ram u got?

Are you trying to boot off of the BF2.exe or the PR.exe? because the BF2.exe no longer works if you instal PR. So trying to play off of the BF2.exe would not work.

(The PR.exe would have two dog tags as symbols)

well thats the minimum for PR but u shud b sweet. As said above u shud make sure u are launching from Desktop off the PR.exe not the bf2.exe Also it helps to shut down all external processes that arent crucial. Try all that and c if it will run
