next release question

Post by flem615 »

i was wondering if the new maps coming out soon will have as much clutter as maps like Fallujah West. i cant play on Fallujah and i have bad FPS on other recently released maps. im just wondering if the new maps planned for release are going to be similar. im getting a new computer than will be able to handle all this in a few months, so it might not be a problem.

I'd say buy a new computer, I'm about to do the same after the holidays. The maps that are being worked on look quite demanding, and I think PR will proceed in that direction, so it's best to upgrade indeed.

Every release will bring more and more complex maps and objects until we really break the engine. Best thing to do is realize sometime you might be the small % that cant keep up.

also remember that even though PR is taking the bf2 engine to its limits with every release that its still based on a 4 year old engine and its nowhere near as demanding as some of the current pc games *cough*crysis*cough* so it doesnt take a super computer to run it. you might want to look into some used older hardware, heck my system is 2 years old and runs PR beautifully and I bought all my pc components new at the time, but I bet I could get all of this stuff for about half the price now. of course, you can never have too much power in your pc so if your planning on getting a new system I say go for it.

well, if you will kindly check the help and hardware section of the forums, i am trying to find a good, high end computer to buy. idk my exact current Spcs, but they arent good. single core, low end graphics card, and a shit processor. i cant even have 2 web pages open at the same time and youtube is awefully slow... yes its very bad, but like i said im in the process of getting a new comp.

here are my current specs
core2 duo E6400 2.1ghz
2 gigs ram
nvidia 7950GT 512mb
windows xp

i run everything on high at 1152xI cant remember resolution {lol} i get very smooth framerates and PR looks beautiful. my system is over 2 years old now, so I can only imagine what a comparable system would cost today. probably not very much.

I have same problem my computer is old about 3 years now so going to build a new 1 soon just got to get some cash together. But if you are getting **** FPS then lower your graphics and if they are already on low then try reducing your resolution that helps but the picture looks weird but i find it improves my FPS by a lot.

My computer is gettin old now 1 nd half years old, but I can still run pr smoothly on high with good average fps,
but If you are gettin low fps on high graphics, wouldnt u rather have high graphics than high fps? I know i would.

Are you saying you would rather have high graphics then high fps?

My computer is shitty shitty, 1GB ram but after this latest release ive managed to get much more FPS, they must have fixed it somehow, very good. Like somone said, you can buy cheap stuff that makes you run PR very smoothly. I would really love a new computer, I love the feeling getting a new comp, you just download all new games and start to play, love it.
