Re: Technical Truck Suggestion & Proposal
I agree with all of these
the first suggestion is good, although I thought you could already do this?
the second suggestion has actually been suggested a few times before, including by me. there was a recoilless rifle in the works but i the guy that was doing it quit working on it.
the third suggestion i do believe would be possible because you can fire your guns while standing outside the hatch of a insurgent car, so doing the same from a truck must be possible?

You can use the iron sights on most vehicles but you have to press the "change camera" key.

Check what your change camera key is you might have set it to something else or deleted it. also some vehicles just don't have the ironsights for some reason. I guess it's still a wip.Commando_Jenkins wrote:I've pressed C, X and right mouse when using the passenger gun, none of them give me an ironsight.

Guess you've never done an insurgent tank? Just grab an RPG and position yourself in any car with a buddie driving you and you are in business.Commando_Jenkins wrote: Proposal:
- Anti-Vehicle Technical
Description: Used by african rebel forces, and certain taliban groups. The Anti-Vehicle Technicial is a pickup truck fitted with a rocket launcher similar to the RPG, but used mainly on vehicles. It would require the truck to be immobile when aiming upon enemy vehicles, and only comes with a limited amount of rockets. After using the limited amount, the truck would have to be brought back to base and rearmed. The Tech RPG does have an Ironsight, making it easier to aim.

Not so effective though...

The second suggestion reminds me of Blackhawk Down
Yeah I would really wanna see ironsights and the AT Techie, although they might make insurgents more OP, since they win on most maps 75% of the time.

Re: Technical Truck Suggestion & Proposal
when ever i see (in films) a guy in the passenger gun trying to fire, they are always bouncing around while trying desperitly to aim. and to be honust, this is exactly how i would have imagined it to be. there is no way the passenger could site in properly without getting an eye socket filled with steel. i would suggest lowering the head level in the passenger gun on both technicals and rovers. The passenger gun for the technical has no ironsight or aim reticle. I find it hard to watch where tracers go in order to accurately fire the weapon. Adding an Ironsight when clicking "Right Mouse Button" would help, and could certainly be appreciated.
your right, this should be an option. i think you could make it look like your standing up in transition from a chair position to standing in first person view. but in third person, first off, the player would snap into position, thats not a problem, its a BF2 limitation that has been pleasently ignored since the very start, but you cant do that with a view change.Proposal #2:
* Technical with no Turret, but ability to stand up and shoot
Description: Another variation of technical trucks would be one without a turret on the back, but in exchange for two slots where the occupants can stand up, aiming and being able to deploy weapons like the PKM to accurately shoot when immobile. I dont know if this is hardcoded.
i think you could simply make it able to carry 1 driver, 1 front passenger, 2 rear sitting positions and 2 stand up positions. that way, the 2 sit down rear guys could be in a standing position. i think the whole idea behind this is, player preference and choice. if you want to be exposed, you should be allowed to be exposed, if you want to be hunched down for cover you should be given the choice.
good topic.

off topic, but where do you get this 80 percent figure from?Commando_Jenkins wrote:Insurgents are far from OP when it comes to combat. A scoped AR15 vs an Unscoped AK47, Insurgent loses 80% of the time. Unless in close quarters on fully automatic. Insurgents only win alot because they hide most of the time. I play on some servers, US wins most of the time cause of coordination. But Insurgents really do need to be buffed in combat.
and back on topic, id still like to see a mitsubishi fuso truck with a zsu anti aircraft cannon in the back

Recoilless rifle techies have been suggested before, and I don't think they're ever getting in game (otherwise they'd be in already, as it's a gameplay thing).

I don't think so, I believe it's only due to the fact that it has yet to be made.Expendable Grunt wrote:Recoilless rifle techies have been suggested before, and I don't think they're ever getting in game (otherwise they'd be in already, as it's a gameplay thing).

*cracks knuckles* Time for a lesson
1. DeltaFart was making the SPG 9 Recoiless Rifle
2. Delta ended his project due to the difficulty with some of the parts, and the incentive of continuing it diminished at the end of March.
3. Motherdear may or may not be continuing the project once he is done with the AAV.
4. There is no apparent developer intent to model the SPG 9 themselves, so if it is to get into PR it'll have to be made by one of the community members.
