Graphics problem freezing and Graphic glitches.

Post by Regan »

I have just installed a new “BFG Geforce 285OC” along with a Cooler Master 750 watt psu. Since doing this I have now had constant problems with freezing, graphic glitching and graphics changing colours. What do you think could be the problem? Here is a list of my specs below. Thanks!!

Motherboard: Asus crosshair
Psu: cooler Master 750 watt
Graphics card BFG Geforce 285OC
Ram 4 gig
Windows vista 32bit
Hard drive: Western digital 600 Gb
Cpu: Amd athlon64 6400+ dual core 3.21Ghz

BTW, I have tested different drivers for this card.

I have a similar problem.
Since a week or so my computer randomly freezing in the middle of a game and I have to restart with on/off button.
No task manager or nothing works... totally stuck. Ive only been playing on UK Warfare servers when this appears (and is almost the only servers Im on), but I doubt that is the problem.
Few times (very few) I had black textures on some distance objects, but this I get rid of by alt tab to desktop and back to game.

Have none of this problems with other games such as Arma 2 (which I believe demands more from my computer).

Check and make sure the 4 pin connector on the video card is good and the fan runs well or if the PSU has a 2nd video power leg try using that one. Depending on how much stuff you have crammed inside your case you might want to add a custom fan/with outside hole across from the video card to bring in cool air. Overheating is a common problem with larger video cards. Video cards sucking hot air from the inside of the case for cooling will not run as cool as one with fresh cold air from outside the case running through it.
Good luck
