[?] Model programs

Post by smart_boy00 »

Hello guys,

I am wanting to dive headfirst into modeling and i was wandering what program you would recommend for me? I learn fast and no matter how complex it is i can become proficient at it.

Thanks in advance and please keep the noob comments to null. :)

3D Studio Max 9 (aka 3DsMax9, and not 2009) is what I would recommend if you want to model for BF2. 3DsMax is a pretty standard modelling tool.

ye use gmax to learn, its basically the same program, made by the same company etc it just dose not have all the features Max dose but you dont need them to learn the basics on. There is also a free trial of 3DsMax.

but on the other hand, gmax isn't developed any more...

so for more support and help from experienced users you should go for blender ;)
(btw i use it too)

Blender is pretty good these days. Definitely something to consider. It's not suitable on it's own for BF2 developing though since it doesn't have tools for exporting into Bf2. You'd need someone else who has 3ds to export your models.

3ds has some fairly cheap student versions available if you're a student.
