ADDENDUM by MAINERROR: Before this gets out of hands and even more off-topic than it already is. This thread is meant for you to give us feedback on the designplan, like weapons used, vehicles used and so on and not about the faction name and it's background.

This is an imaginary faction where I decided to not worry about politics and religion because frankly I couldn't care less in a game about such things. So just as a reminder. The faction name and background is not up for discussion, thats final.

I like the idea. Is this ging to be added to the exsisting maps (swap out other sides?) or new maps for the new guys?

my guess is for new maps, because as of now there are no maps with african "legend" and it should be pretty much far away from release of ARF because development just started

as for design plan
1. reduce amount of smoke for militia, dont think they use lots of it irl
2. for militia i would go for complete removing of optics(except of marksman with SVD ofc)
3. RPD- is it really used widely in that area?

It will be used on new maps and maybe on one or two old maps too but we will see in the future. ;)

WRT point 1, I'll have to talk to my MA Nosferatu - who is a great help - about it.

I've removed the optics from the militia officer, forgot to do it yesterday. Cheers. :)

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

i suggest you make a map where you have some western country on a carrier or cruiser and several cargoships and a small shoreline and then the ARF have to capture the ships :P

Hum, same with the Carl Gustav.
I suggest the FN MAG (I think there's a model in some thread) : sure it's a heavy weapon, sure Russian MG are far more widespread over the continent, but it'd be unique in PR atm and some countries use it anyway.

Why not merge them ? It'd be too hard and time-consuming with all those different countries, cultures, languages, ethnics, etc...besides, we've got Arab-speaking Taliban and a fictionnal coalition, no need to be harsh about it ^^.

one question though, wrt rifleman/rifleman specialist, is the specialist going to get anything 'special' or is it just the rifleman kit with less stuff and the FAL?

Can you make it more "conventional" than the Militia? i mean, if africans decided to join up for some unexplained reason, lets not nerf them totally. i would like to see a complete Conventional faction using more unconventional tactics (due to slightly worse equipment) rather than an untrained, illequipped force using unconventional tactics.

please Remove the wooden AK47s from the faction, replace them with wooden 74s or reskin them to have syntethic handguards (sorry no realism for this, but im sure some AK fanboi may help me on it. i just dont want africans to be automatically placed in the "poor and untrained" group, like the ins, militia or the taliban.)
if none of those options for replacing the wooden ak, please us FN FAL PARA for the classes now in possesion of the AK. and give the FAL PARA to the HAT class as well, please. why would africans have an israeli gun?
also please give the crewman a M1911... its the "service pistol" for this faction, so i don't see why not. (and i couldnt find a suiting SMG, or carbine, other than the FN FAL PARA)

please name the classes conventionally. theres no need for "badass" names like "warrior" or suchlike.

another conventional opfor faction would be Great!

i suggest you to re-read the design plan, there are two parts: militia and conventional force
Remove the wooden AK47s from the faction, replace them with wooden 74s
why? to have 3rd faction with ak-74? this will make them more special from others, and AKM itself doesn't make them poor, look at this like MEC G3(also 7.62 round) but with 30 rounds clip :-P
