Well behaviored, caring developers + rude demands = no results. Instead of demanding something barbaric like "OMG TEH SUKK FIX TI IT FIRES TOO FAST AND ACCRT NERF NERF!!", try to suggest a realistic way to fix the problem.

I think the insta prone is the problem as mentioned. No one throws themself to the ground with that amount of steel and a bulky ammo box and expects to be in perfect firing position. Haven't fired one myself but common sense.

If the M249 was such a lethal weapon that provided the ultimate battlefield role then the armed forces across the world would be kitting out every troop with one.

They are a support weapon hence the support class which is why they should be used in a supporting role NOT in a assualt role which we all seem to find them used primarily. Yes I know they CAN be used in assult as per the shown pictures.

What I expect to see from this weapon with this class is someone standing off providing supression fire for advancing squads. If your in a squad you should be the last man to move up once the next area your moving to is secured by your squad mates.

If I am in the open and in your line of fire I expect to get hosed down with your 5-10th shot.

What a lot of us are finding and I can only talk from in game experience is we meet a support gunner around a corner or anywhere under about 20m's. We go prone and they do too just as fast. We fire first with our assault rifle usually getting to our second/third shot before the support gunner opens up but they kill us first.

Personally I think there needs to be one support gunner per squad with a rule that they cannot be squad leader (stops people creating squads just to be a support gunner). They need to move slow and have some setup time when going prone.

My two pence :-)

Yeah you could look at it the DOD way and consider limiting classes per team/per squad. Also just make the bullet spread of the support weapons larger and a bit more recoil making it harded to kill but possible.

well the game doesn't seems to reflect the fact that the SAW is pretty heavy, it is as accurate as it appear from what i can gather.

Have you ralized that there are no "stances"-bonuses in terms of recoil.
All weapons have the same recoil, standing crouched and prone.

PLUS: the M249 hat less recoil standing than an AK-101... or M-16...

It shout's "BUG!" in my face!

All soldiers aren't kitted with the M249 purely because they don't need it. It's less maneuverable than a standard rifle. The rifles the military use are designed to kill their targets efficiently, while keeping the weapons as light and easy to use as possible. Machine guns are designed to kill everything, but they're allowed to sacrifice a little on the movement grounds of things. Yes, the problem with PRMM at the moment is that the support class is as maneuverable as the other classes, and that needs to be addressed really. That's it though, everything else is just fine.

The ingame M249 is loaded with 200 rounds, not 100 rounds. And I read the M249 fully loaded weighs 10kg (thou I can't confirm that). That should give it a handicap compared with M-16s? (I never handled any of these)

Also I think the support class should be less stealthy and make more noise when moving. It makes no sense having it moving around with all these bullets as silent as an spec ops.
