Installing .NET Framework 3.5

I have PR installed on my XP computer,but its extremely slow,and I really want to play on my Vista,but im having trouble installing NET 3.5,everytime I try to install it,it just says this:"setup.exe has stopped working"and the installer stops I click the error log and this is what appears:

Any help would be appreciated,and by the way,if i had to have .NET 2.0 SP1 installed,I cant find the installer that works for Vista

i have not tried this myself but there seems to be a cleanup tool for .net fws

try using it and then try to reinstall

also have you tried if pr does work - a friend of mine said his .net installation failed but he could still play pr with no problems (although his install stopped at .net 3.0)

If you have Vista 2.0 SP1 then you have .NET 2.0 SP 1 already installed on your system. If you do NOT have the SP1 for vista installed (which is what it sounds like) , then you should install it as it fixes LOADS of problems with vanilla Vista which was rushed out.

You will not find an .NET 2.0 SP1 installer for vista , as it is installed as part of the first vista SP.

How would I know if I had SP1 for Vista installed(Sorry,im not experenced with finding out what Service Pack i have on Vista,ive never tried it before)

If you go to MyComputer (right click) >> Properties (or something like that ... not sure on vista). It will tell you.

Go to Windows updater and click on 'view update history'
You will see a list of every update and the date it was installed.

I didnt see it on installed updates,ill try to install Vista SP1 and see if it works

the error code is important but if sp1 update fails then that is non-pr problem and you might find the answer to that in another forum so google for your error

The SP1 updates Vista to 6.0(as i thought as I was starting the dl)I already was at 6.0:
