[Faction Proposal] Turkish Army Faction

Just going back a couple of pages to reply on this comment;

Why make them? From what I see they're basically MEC

What's the point of making a faction if you don't get any new toys to play with? ;D

The reason that the Rurkish Army would be an interesting faction for me is that we, at last, would see some middle eastern maps without having to play as Yanks or Brits. I want to see less Westerners on the battlefield, and Turks versus Arabs (MEC) would be awesome.

Good luck on mod guys,but maybe u should add Leopard MBT,because TAF has a handful number of these afaik.

I think im very late about posting smtng on this topic BUT: Turkish Armed Forces have no SIMILARITY with MEC forces.

1- MEC is a coalition but TAF is a fully national and conventional army. It has its own warfare styles and components.
2- Turkish Armed Forces, in 20th century especially, always coordinated with Western Block Countries and joined Nato in early 50's. They fought in Korea, Bosnia, Afghanistan etc. together with Nato forces.
3- The conflict between TAF and PKK Terrorist Organization is an essential part of Middle East politics. (I still think that adding this conflict to PR would be dangerous anyway)
4- Turkish Armed Forces has much more potential and physical ability than the other incoming factions in PR.

As a consequence, TAF surely deserves to be in PR and it easily meets the requirements of being an efficient faction in PR.

I hope we can continue this project by finding a good modding team.

i dont agree with your nr.4. furthermore i think every nation/group deserves to be in PR if there are people who wanna make it

and if you want to lead this project (or what is your task/skill/etc) than go for it!
but i think the main focus shuld be maps! really, because most faction lack on them and most of the weapos etc for this faction are in the making or already in game, so just get mappers to work and in about 6 mounths you could think about kit layouts and such things

I definitely agree with you. I just intended to explain that there are certain differences between MEC and TAF, thats why i thought TAF also deserves to be in PR. Because some people think that there are no differences between MEC and TAF so adding TAF would be useless. I just do not agree with that.

And again, i hope we can find some talented people to do this. As you say, especially for the maps. Cuz Northern Iraq, for example, has a very different and though landscape. I know the deal cuz i've been there for almost 10 years.

I still cant believe this topic is still ongoing. Everyone has put more pictures and ideas into this thread then into any other I have ever seen, but....... a model, map, or code doesn't happen from posting pictures or saying "This gun would be leet!" If you would like this to be done, download some mod tools and start messing around.

And this arguement of it being like the MEC was discussed before by me and Rezza. And since the Turkish army wont be using too much MEC stuff they wouldn't be even close to alike. So as i said before, go and grab mod tools and make it happen cause its not heading there like this.

Yeah a Greece vs Turkey environment would be cool, and not just on Cyprus also in the Agean but who will make the Greeks?

I go to Greece (Kos/Rhodes) for vacation a lot so i can help on the intel part, work out map idea's.
Most of their weapons are allready ingame or in development.
