To anyone with the knowledge of PHotoshop/3dsMax

Post by Maverick »

*looks towards Chuc*

Hey guys, as I have figured out I am taking a Computer Animation Class, and I was hoping that maybe people can mentor me on a few things about photoshop/3dsmax. Thanks again!

Those are pretty broad requests -- there are plenty of free and helpful tutorials for both 3dsMax and Adobe Photoshop®.

May I suggest the 'You Suck at Photoshop' series on YouTube?

aight, main reason is because our first assignment will be a steamboat, and we choose what to do with it, gonna try to figure out how to create the water, and the boat, and what I will decide what the boat does, I hope that Chuc can give me a few pointers, and also, if I can apply those skills into the PR world.

Well.. I don't have the time to be 'mentoring' someone, especially if there are no specific questions. Its like another frequently asked request, 'teach me how to draw'.

And shouldn't your class teach you how to do those things? :p I'll be normal if you got a client request and you don't know the technical aspects of what you want to do but yeah

By the way I don't model, UV or rig, just texture and animate.

I found the series un helpful and not detailed enough. The guy spends too much time trying to be funny and not actually telling you how to do stuff....

As a Software & Information Systems major, I'm just going to reiterate what some others have said, TEACH YOURSELF! It's the only way to learn. Every teacher I have had could tell me WHAT to do, but never HOW to do it. Computer concepts are difficult and really have to be mastered by trial and error. At least that's what I've always found to be the case.

Photoshop Tutorials, Flash Tutorials and More! P2L Tutorial Search

I find that site useful for photoshop tutorials, it lets you do some cool stuff while learning.
