I hope we see LAWs included soon, I just hope they're not abused as AP weapons.
Oh but they will be. For example, on maps like jugle fever I can see it going horribly wrong.

Why bother actually assaulting the final base when a rifleman can simply sit on the perimiter spamming LAWs? and as riflemen are pretty much self suffiecent in ammo, it could all go horribly wrong.

I fear we could be in for some real "Jagged Alliance 2" moments. you spot a group of enemy soldiers and then WOOSH, BOOM. Problem solved.

Out of interest, as this is project reality, I assume the LAWs will be incorporating a back blast.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Well, the rifleman won't always necessarily have a LAW, if we can get randomization to work. Remember, we are dealing with a limited number of weapon slots. We also will work to make them not reloadable from the player-carried ammunition bags.

Keep in mind, though, that there may also be single shot, disposable "bunker-buster" weapons like the XM141 that have a larger casualty radius than the HEAT rounds of the LAWs.

Backblast is something we do wish to incorporate on the appropriate weapons.

If you can make LAWs not reloadable from player carried ammo bags, then you can incorporate ammo that only works for certain weapons for all classes, which means you can incorporate my sharing idea... :D

Do you want to know why I hate the ATGMs in vBF2? The horrible way it guides. I do much better in the SF xpack with the RPG-7 then I could do with ATGMs.

Hehe, I can't wait! The backblast from stingers caused soooo many random TKs when I was playing the Nations at War mod. Pretty entertaining/tragic stuff...

Malik wrote:Another prejudiced Western judgement. There are tons of posts on this forum about people suggesting the Devs dumb down the MEC because of course it's impossible to be from the Middle East and have a sophisticated army. I think you'll find if all the forces in the Middle East joined together in the way that BF2 depicts with the weaponry that BF2 depicts they'd be a sizeable and powerful fighting force. Just because you're used to seeing videos or whatever of insurgents wearing rags using stolen RPGs and AKs doesn't mean the MEC should. The MEC are a modern army and the DEVs are trying to improve that image.

That being said, dumbfire rockets are on the cards for infantry to carry. The Americans get the AT-4, the Chinese will get their PF-89 and the MEC will most likely receive an RPG-7.

And anyway, it's the Eryx.
Here is the definition of prejudice:

http://www.answers.com/prejudiced&r=67

According to the definition, if anything, you are the one who is prejudice:

"The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions."

If the entire Middle East joined together, they would simply have a ton of men and most likely cold-war era weapons purchased from Russian, just like the Chinese, and do not forget, there is still Israel, which is extremely militarily advanced and has repelled invasions from its neighboring countries.
Malik wrote:Of course. The main point would that be that they'd have no fighter jets, armour, none of that. They'd have three classes "Grunt" who carries an AK-47, "Rocket Man" who carries an RPG-7 and "Improv Guy" who just carries explosives that the player can use however they like. They'd all spawn on rooftops or from mosques and they'd have about 10 tickets per map. Fun? Not really, I like the professional MEC. The DEVs just need to carry on cleaning up their image a little bit, give them some shinier weapons and less angry faces.
Iran has an air force and so do other countries in the Middle East.

They also have "40,000 suicide bombers" standing by for when the peace negotiations falter... Well, at least they say they do.

whatever, i think the extraction gamemode would be a better challange if the mec team had RPG's instead of guided AT Missiles.
its really hard (almost impossible) to win as us and save the vip vehicle!
